My 5 year old daughter's complexion is darker than any of us in the family. My siblings make fun of us because I have the fairest skin in the family and yet my daughter is the darkest. They make fun of it (a friendly joke though) but I don't really think that she's that dark. Personally, I think her complexion is just the same as my youngest sister, but they still make fun of her because she's darker. It's because her father is really dark (I'm separated btw). A couple of weeks ago, we went swimming and she really got darker because of the sun. It is just then that I noticed that she really is dark. I was wondering if whitening soaps and lotions are safe for kids. Of course not the strong whitening products. Like just the ones with papaya or green papaya extracts, glutathione soap and lotion. Are they safe for a 5 year old kid? Will it be effective for kids?

use healthy food products and natural fruits, that is enough to glow their beauty.

Like I said in my previous replies, I was talking about ORGANIC products. Just like what you suggested. Thank you. Happy Mylotting. :)

I don't think there is a whitening product recommended or suitable for kids.
As we've always read and hear from news that whitening products and the likes composed of harmful chemicals that can even damaged sensitive skin, what more with kids as young as 5 years old.
You must accept that she is darker than the others.
There is nothing wrong being dark, beauty is not all about color.

Like I've said in my previous reply, I've thought about that. Of course I know that such products have harsh chemicals but I wasn't talking about those products. I was talking about ORGANIC products. I should've mentioned the type of product I was talking about. And yes, I accept her for what she is. I've always seen her as not dark, for me she's fair. I'm talking about her getting dark because of the sun while swimming, not her true complexion.

hi,
maybe it will depend upon the whitening product, because there are some product that can apply and use by children and those are the mild one,but those whitening products in the face i think children should not use any one of the item because their face are still have baby skin and easily irritate it.

No, those are harmful especially since your kid is just 5 years old. She's too young, her complexion can get lighter as she age.

I don't think this is advisable for children whitening products contain a very harsh ingredients for a child to use.Children often has a sensitivity in this kind of products because their skin is prone to sensitivity.
Most of what you claim to whiten skin has composed of bleaching material which may affect young skin.I suggest not to use whitening products for children.

I see. Thank you for your opinion. However, I've already thought about that. I'm talking about the MILD whitening products such as ORGANIC based products. I was wondering if they're ok since they're organic, meaning free from harsh chemicals.
