Hi Mylotters;
Just got back on for the night.. Decided to check if by chance the email notifacations where on.. To my suprise they are back! Thank you mylot for fixing the problem.. I know there were a lot of people that were lost without them..
I am really excited for several reasons.. I think the biggest one is the people that have been on my friends list forever I will know when they post something; that was so frustrating.. Plus there are a lot of discussions that I have posted lately and I like to try to get back to the post and respond back.. I am so Happy
My question to you mylotters is.. Did it really make a difference that they were off for awhile, and if so what would the biggest reason for you?

This both have an advantage and disadvantage.
The advantages are, my email will not be flooded with notifications from my friends discussions and comments and everything. And so, I will not be reading them and delete all at once. It saves me time and effort for that.
BUT, the disadvantages is, it's more time consuming to browse again the resonded discussions just to check if they commented back on you.
So all in all, I still prefer to have the notifications back.
Thank goodness it was now fixed.
I find it lonesome too not receiving any emails from mylot.

Yes I can agree with the lack of emails that I recieved in the last week.. Since then I have added at least 20 or 30 friends so my email will be a little busier then before; if the people I added are active;-)

That is a shame that someone would use a "friend request" just to get more referrals for another site.. I have had that happen a couple times.. Needless to say they are no longer on my list.. I am here to write and have fun with new people..

yes. it affected very much. now it is easy for us to know the discussions started by our friends. from and out of that we can choose and respond.

I find you have 28 friends only. Please check up whether you have marked notifications ON properly against all their names. In case it is marked OFF you will not get notifications. also it can be your friends have not started discussions. please go to your friends profile and check up. good day.

I am so happy that the notifications are back for when people respond to a post or leave a comment. What happeno the notifications for friend requests. I did not realize it till today, but I had like 12 pending friend requests awaiting approval. Generally, I respond to them right away when I get the email saying that someone has sent you a friend request. As I said, I got no notifications. Also, I am wondering what happened to the email feature where we used to get notifications when our friends start a new discussion?

I think there is a major problem within mylot and they are not telling us what is going on.. I mean whats wrong with being honest with us?? For the most part we are all here using this system in the way that it was intended.. Is it so wrong to ask for them to let us know what is going on??

I agree that they should have more open communication with their members. I think for the most part members would appreciate know what is going on with the site. As you say, we are all here for the same reasons, and want to have a quality site. I recall a few years ago that there was like threads started for communicating our ideas to admin for improving myLot. Does anyone know what happened to those discussion threads?

I guess it is,email notifications are reminders that our friends started some discussions. from there we can start to respond them each. email notifications makes myloy work simple.

Yes it does.. I think the less time that is spent trying to find a discussion that you can relate to so it is a good response you can spend that time writing, and sharing your views with others..

Yes. It is back again. I was facing much difficulties without it. I had to search old discussions and my friend's discussions to reply again. And it was very much frustrating for me. Now i am very much happy..

Yes mylot is a huge network; and there is a lot of people here.. Computer networking is my field of study.. Mylot could have sent us emails explaining that there was a problem/upgrade or even just posted on mylot in general.. But they let all of us just sit here and wonder.. for over a week..
I know within this week that the notifications where down there were new members that joined.. Some by referral.. How does that look if you (the user) is trying to get people to join mylot and there is issues with the site.. and no one knows whats was going on... Or there are other people that have been on here for so many years and just got tired of the glitches... Communication is not too much to ask in my opinion...

I am so happy that most of our fellow mylotters do not have to face these frustrations anymore.. I hope they do not turn them off again.. That could cause some people to quit mylot for good, from some of the responses some people wrote on some other discussions on this topic.. That would be sad..

Yes, I agree that would be awful if we lost myLot members due to the site not working correctly. Truthfully, I think they really want the site to work well here on myLot it is just that it is such a big community it is probably hard for the system to support it at times during high peak times. Like one of the members posted in another thread maybe they just need to upgrade the system.
