I can finally say he is the best!

Ah, military relationships are extremely difficult. That is sweet that he was going to surprise you like that. :) And Korea? Wow... My man is getting ready to go Special Forces in the next 3 months or so, and if he gets stationed overseas, and we either aren't yet married, or we are but I still have to stay at my unit and can't go with him, I honestly have no idea how that could work. The time difference must make it incredibly difficult to maintain communication. But I wish you both the best of luck! If a relationship can survive things like that, you both really should consider yourselves very lucky and blessed. :)

Yes, they really are difficult. What makes it a little easier is that we were already dating 2 years before he joined the army so we already had a close relationship before he left. I know he would've loved to have been married so I could've gone to Korea with him but we'll probably wait a few more years until he's out of the army. But he does regret not proposing to me before he left. I think he's going to try and surprise me for my birthday in May with a ring and a visit :) Yikes..Special Forces, I would be so worried if my boyfriend did that. I'm already worried enough since he left and I don't think I could handle him being in the Special Forces on top of that. I almost had a heart attack when he told me he wanted to go to Airborne school lol. I think that if you and your man do get separated, either overseas or a different state, I think it would be possible to keep up a relationship. It definitely won't be easy but you'll be able to pull through if you think he's worth the wait and pain of being apart. My boyfriend and I are from South Florida. He went to basic and AIT in Fort Sill which was an hour behind Fl time. In Korea, he's 13 hours ahead of me so it's always opposite. When I'm waking up he's just getting ready for bed. We do get to talk a lot luckily. He bought a phone in Korea and he uses skype to message me and make free calls. I'll hear from him around 5 or 6 pm my time and I'll get a call later at night and then in the morning before he goes to bed. It's hard when we have to sleep but I try to wake up to check my messages so I can at least be talking to him. It's hard, but when he can talk to me a lot it makes him feel a lot closer than he actually is. As far away as he is, I really do feel lucky to have someone as amazing as him. If both of you believe your relationship will last, then it will no matter what happens or where you guys get stationed :) Good luck and I hope things work out for the two of you :)
