How can one get fast Internet when his house is in the middle of a forest where there is only a BSNL telephone connection? (The house is 10 kms. away from telephone exchange?)

I would ask you to have BSNL broadband connection. It is the one of the telecom service which provides range in every nook and corner of the world. At present I uses BSNL broadband. BSNL has a lot of broadband plans, moreover it provides a good speed according to the plan you select. I am well satisfied with it. I think you can make use of it.

if you can get an internet service that bypasses internet towers and connects to a satellite then the internet is much faster. one can have a smartphone out in the middle of a desert and get online quickly if connected directly from a satellite. these towers connected to telephone poles are just a wasteful way for telecom companies to make money.

hmm..judging from your situation i don't think there would be bsnl broadband in your area since you said the house is in the middle of the forest...but don't get your hopes down...if i were you i would go for a 3g stick...its wireless and since you have bsnl coverage, you'd be getting 3g.

There is also satellite internet service which might be available where you are, but it is expensive compared to cable or DSL.

I think there is a way, but it is not cheap. You could get fast internet through wireless antennas. That means that you have to find a source to give you internet and buy wireless equipment.
