Are you a bag-a-holic?

When I looked at the corner of our room, I noticed my bags. Then it hit me; why do women love bags? You may admit it or not, in one way or another, we are bag-a-holic. Women will not leave a mall without going inside a shoes and bags boutique and I guess 85% will be going out with a big smile in their face because they got it.
Most of the women I know really spend a lot on money on bags, In fact, one of my best friends was into Louis Vuitton and she owned more than 15 bags but now she's into Prada. I keep telling her to stop buying bags because it's too much and I think it's a psychological disease already. She's a big time bag-a-holic or a bag addict.
I will admit that I too love signature bags but I know where to draw the line. I always think of my children first and that the money I will spend on a bag can be much more useful in other things.

I think the reason why women are addicted of collecting bags because it has become a fashion statement. This because more designers and elite people in the fashion industry are promoting priced items most especially bags. It has also been a part of womanhood to own bags. A woman cannot fit all her belongings (cosmetics, wallet, etc.) in her pocket, She needs to have a bag to carry all her valuables. On the other hand, bags also define social status. the more expensive bags you own, the more people assume that you are socially rich.

I agree with you that bags are the status symbol of women today. And I see a lot of women buying what they call "mirror image" bags like LV, Prada, Gucci, and so on just to boast/brag (sad to say).... "hey! I can afford that too", even though that they know it's not authentic.

True, very true. some people just buy it because of the brand and the reputation designers promotes their products but in the long run, it's just a piece of bag. :D

Thanks a ton for posting this discussion. Yes most of the woman are bag-o-holic and that is the reason u can find that their outfits and accessories are incomplete without carrying a stylish bag. I feel it gives a touch of grace and elegancy when u carry a bag with u and also that is the best place for a woman to carry all her necessary items.
