Acupuncture is an alternative treatment originating from China. They use needles in certain points to stimulates the points, correct the imbalance of the flow (qi)through channels that they call meridians. I tried acupuncture, and doesn't really know whether they are effective or not. Some people testify that acupuncture can relieve pain. When I have muscle pain, I feel that massage therapist can do the job. You can feel the massages, loosening the muscle tightness. But acupuncture, I don't feel anything. Maybe he didn't get the right points? I don't know. To cure disease, I am not too sure about that either. According to my massage therapist who is also an acupuncturist, acupuncture can not cure, but it help stimulating your nerve or meridian. Your body itself will cure it, but the acupuncture will help activating it.

I know many people who swear by acupuncture. They have told me how it has helped them. I tried acupuncture once and did not like it. I have a slipped disc and had a treatment for the pain. It did not help at all but one treatment is not enough. I could not stand the needles and lying still on the table with the needles in me.
