Hi Mylotters!
Today is mango season in my place. And it is one of my favorite fruit seasons. FYI, there are some of fruit seasons occur in my place: durian season, rambutan season and today is mango season. Mang season usualy occurs in dry season where the sun shines so brightly and its light stimulates mango trees to produce flowers. and after one or two month, woila..! the fruits are hanging on the stems of the tree. mango trees near my house are not too tall so somd of their heavy fruits are hanging so close above the ground and it's awesome..! what about in your place, do you have fruit season like mine? thanks for sharing..! :)

Mango season is really coming to its peak season, yet now is just having some harvest from other provinces. In my province of Cebu where the fruit is abundant,
when I was having a chance to have a vacation,I will see to it to buy some glutinous rice cake and I will eat this with the ripe mango and hot chocolate drink. This was a sort of a delicacy here in my province.

It is really very good food in my province. You have also a good recipe from your province, and I think it is sweet and hot when cooked and serve.I think I will also
try to make that sweet and hot sauce just to eat the mango.

yes you're right. that food is one of favorite food in my place. the taste is combination of sweet, hot and sour. those taste are melting in your mouth gives a wonderful sensation. i dont describe it too much but it's true. there are some 'rujak' sellers along the street or in some particular place such yown square or recreation place. and 'rujak' is well consumed in summer like today..:)

I used to know where there was a plum tree, but it was so tall it was impossible to harvest the things. I know where there is a wild grape vine, but since its so near a highway and parking lot I would be afraid to eat them. And, I know where there are several a fig trees, but I don't much like figs...

I see mangoes all the time. Even Walmart sells them. We have a lot of Filipinos living in the area, I know a couple of guys married to some.
I like kiwis, and some folks say they taste like strawberries, but I think they taste like... kiwis.
Heck, around here we can get apples/oranges/grapes year around, and that means they are imported as well...
I'm just wary of new foods because of my food allergies - but if they do taste like peaches, I would hate to buy one and waste it because I've become so turned off by peaches because of that allergic reaction.
I just read some of the wiki article on mangoes, it seems that they can cause a reaction to people who are allergic to poison ivy - especially the sap and unripe ones... maybe some day I'll be brave enough to give them a try.
If you ever can afford an imported fruit, I'd try an apple, those are my favorite!

you give another knowledge today about fruits grow in your place. i never try peach befire so I cant say whether mango has similar taste with peach. but if your roomie saud like that, yeah maybe it's true. lol. i think you may try mango someday. as i know my country export mango to another country. maybe mango from my country also sent to your country. maybe you can find it in a big supermarket cos it's considered as imported fruit so only few supermarkets sell mango. and dont be surprised if the price is expensive. lol. about the reaction if your body, maybe because of the fiber contain in mango.some people maybe allergic to fiber. they could get stomachache if rhey consume fiber too mucth. if my response is not suitable with what you said, it means I can understand well to what have you said and i should ask your apologize for that. it must be because of my bad English. lol.

Hihumairaku, we don't have mango season here and mango of all kinds are available here daily They are delicious with its unique smell. Rambutan season is coming. I plugged a few ripe rambutans from the tree in the front yard yesterday afternoon and share with my husband and his sister I can see some red rambutans hanging on my neighbor's tree branches.
Happy posting

We have two rambutan and start fruit trees in the house compound. I know it's rambutan season when the hanging fruits turn red or yellow. Almost every house here has rambutan tree in the yard. I usually would buy mangoes from hypermarket or fruit stalls. Mangoes are available as well when doing shopping in the hypermarket. Really there are imported mangoes from Thailand, but I love the local ones only as they are strong in their unique aromatic smell. It's convenient to have the cold mangoes slices in packet sold in the the fruit stall. I'm from Malaysia.

so you live in an area which is good to grow rambutan, dont you? cos though Indonesia is also good to grow rambutan but in my residence, only few peole have rambutan tree in their yard cos the climate maybe is not too suitable to grow rambutan. i ever stated in another part of my provibce where everyone has rambutan tree in their yard just like in your residnce. it rambutan season comes what i can see is red all over. it's so beautiful. i think today is not rambutan season in my place. maybe it will come two or three months later..

wow..it must be wonderful cos you have mango along the year. how it could be, friend? cos as far I know, mango is yearly fruit so we're only able to enjoy fruit once a year. so how could you enjoy mango along the year? do you import them from another countries? or maybe you have a variety of mango which is able to produce fruit along the year? just like mango, rambutan is also yearly fruit. and as I know today is not rambutan season in my place. may I know where do you live? :)

really? it' quite shocking cos we live in.a same country though we live in different island. i never think that we have different fruit season. i mean, I always think that if Java has been already mango season, and so as in Sulawesi or Kalimantan. And so on. I never think that we have different fruit season. if no mangoes in your place right now, what fruit season is occuring in your place today?

hi,
i like mangoes too. In fact many varieties of dishes can be made with mangoes, and i like all of them. In India, summer is the month of mangoes. I like the mango pickle all varieties with curd rice. Mango jellies and lot of other varieties. The mangoes also have lot of fiber which is good for health and with lot of other minerals and vitamins.

i've just known that mango also grows in India..lol..just like India, summer is also mango season in my country. and today is the end of summer in my country. though the weather is still hot but rain comes sometimes. and I can say that today is the peak of mango season. we can find mango sold everywhere. and the more awesome is that there are many kinds of mango in my country. and each mango has different taste. awesome, right? lol. and about the benefit we can get from mango, I do agree with you. though mango is not too good for someone with diabetes mellitus, but generally mango is good enough for people.

I love mango, unfortunately in here only have 1 type of mango from Mexico. Can't really tell if it already ripes, they are all hard. Not like harum manis, soft. I like Indramayu as well, different kinds of sweetness. Mango is one of my favorite fruit that I miss! Rambutan is another one. Papaya is so expensive here. My boy likes mango, so we bought frozen mango, and eat it like a snack. I mix the frozen mango with banana, milk or yogurt to make smoothies. I miss tropical fruits. When I go back to Indonesia, then I look for it. Again with all other types of foods. I miss Indonesian food as well.
