Which would you prefer, ebooks or the real book on hand? Why?

I like collecting books as much as I like reading books. I prefer reading the ones on hand rather than the ebook although there are books you can't find from the stores nowadays and it would eat up your time just looking for them. Still, I prefer the one that I can bring along with me especially in my case I don't have a tab or an ipad and my eyes easily gets irritated when looking at the computer for too long that I have to stop for awhile to rest it before I could go on. Besides that, internet is not easily accessible only for those who can afford to pay about a 1000 just for the internet monthly which is another bill for me. Healthy wise, money wise, electricity wise, I still prefer the books on hand. How about you, which would you prefer, ebooks or the real book on hand? Why? It would be nice to hear from your point of view....

Ebook! I've been collecting books since forever so my books are cramming the house and space consuming. And the rats eats my book! But now i'd rather buy ebooks because as long as the digital age progress, my books will live forever! And no more rats-chipped books. I can also carry it with me even in my handphone, so convenient because i read everyday. Eben in LRT or bus or a very boring moments. I cannot go a day without reading something. hehe!

I purchased an eBook reader two years ago, and since doing that I have never looked back. I did miss having the book in my hands at first, but then I came to the conclusion that it was the words that were the most important thing rather than the paper, and it works out much cheaper in the long term to be able to have the eReader. It means that a lot of the books are either cheaper or free so you only have to pay for the device in the first place rather than anything else. I would recommend them to anybody, and they certainly save a lot of space in your case when you're travelling on a long journey.

I can read from anything, however, I think really enjoying a good book can be a sensory experience as you touch the book, feel the cover, if it is a hardback or paperback, smell the pages if it is brand new or older. You see the colors of the cover, and your fingers move across the pages as you turn each page. Having a special bookmark that you can place in the spot where you left off is a small pleasure as well. If you are reading a book that you make notes in and highlight for example, I am one who highlights in multiple colors, sometimes as a type of coded way to remember points or find points, etc. Yes Kindle allows highlighting. However, colors are not optional. Yes Kindle places bookmarks. But if you've ever had a special bookmark, maybe one you have had for years, or was a gift from someone special, that bookmark is useless with an ebook. So, yes, if I have a preference, I choose the real book over ebook anytime.

I don't care if it is an ebook or a print book as long as people are reading my book and soon to be published sequel. Either one makes me happy and makes me money.
As for my own reading I prefer print although I have some ebooks.

Ebook all the way. Our house are full of real books since way back and I've been collecting since forever and its very space consuming. The rats also eats my books so i'd rather donate it in libraries, but then again they're my books. haha. So now i'd rather buy ebook because as long as the digital age progress, my books will live forever haha! No more rat chipped book. I can also read everywhere since i can read my ebook in my handphone, so convenient since i read everyday. Even in LRT or bus or boring moments. haha

I prefer books I can hold in my hands, feel, touch, and turn the pages. I don't like reading online. I have Kindle for PC but I don't use it very much. It is cheaper for me as I can get books free sometimes for the Kindle. But I can also get real books free. The one thing I do like about Kindle is that if you loan out a book to someone, you will get it back. LOL It seems every book I have loaned out the other person has kept it.
