For three days my tummy was aching, grumbling, and is weird. I took anti acid meds but it did not work effectively. Then I tried to remember what have I eaten that does make me sick in the past few days and all I remember I was drinking coffee a lot this week. So I wonder if it's coffee that makes me feel sick because it triggers the acid in my stomach. What do you guys think?

Caffeine can increase the secretion of gastric acid and make conditions such as ulcers or GERD worse. So it is highly advisable to take something during breakfast along with your cup of coffee. http://www.livestrong.com/article/523061-does-the-caffeine-in-coffee-or-tea-cause-acid-in-your-stomach/

I have to admit, I often drink coffee in the morning without eating breakfast. And it does make me hungrier!

Thanks for the information. I really did have some knowledge about coffee but the thing is... since I drink coffee and I like it a lot too, i more read about the good it gives to me rather than the bad one. I try now to drink coffee as I eat something, I don't drink coffee when my tummy is empty as others did. Coffee make me more hungry when I drink it and is hungry. Thanks for the link I know sure enough it would be a good read and very informative.

Yes, it causes acidity. Been a coffee addict before and I drink 5 consecutive cups in the morning. I love coffee, the smell and the taste. So before, my stomach went really bad and couldn't stand up. It's because of too much coffee. So I stopped for two months then drink again but I minimized it to 1-2 cups a day. Now, it's better. I think you can drink it everyday as long as you are not overdoing it. Drink lots of water to neutralize your tummy. Have a safe day ahead!

Yup, people do tells that it causes acidity but for a coffee drinker like me ( I am not a freak drinker though) just one cup a day or sometimes two but no more than that. I don't think it is the coffee that causes me stomach pain. Hahaha. I just refuse to believe it. But it really bogs me this time that I cannot make coffee in fear that my tummy would go weird again. Ahhh, I think I will drink water more after I drink coffee but my problem is I just cannot drink water after coffee co's after drinking it I'm full already.

Oh, you don't have to drink water after coffee. Just do it after you are not full. It's concentrated in your tummy that's why it causes acidity. And maybe when it's neutralized with water, it will not be that weird anymore.

I heard coffee is more hot than tea so I can also say coffee causes acidity. But if take in less time then no problem. No dont drink a lot because if acidity increase then problem may arise.

yes there are many side effects of coffee, its better we take as much less as we can. reduce it to one cup a day. Or if possible stop it completely. This will surly bring a drastic change in your stomach and your body too.

Oh.. I don't know I just don't think I would stop drinking coffee co's not that bad drinking or an addict drinker. I can actually go without drinking it if there's non. What probably happen to my tummy was caused by all the food I eat that day. Coffee is helps me "go" in the morning. It's my antioxidant. After I drink coffee in the morning I normally head for the bathroom. And this is one reason why I don't want to stop it.

hahahha. I agree that to much coffee in take is really bad but what I'm trying to say here is I don't drink coffee that much this time but my tummy is still weird. At first I blame coffee for what happen to me but as I read mylotters comments I then realized that it just happens to those who drink coffee like they drink water. So now.. I am thinking that it wasn't coffee at all, there are other factor that made me tummy ache. Probably the coffee I drunk that morning just added some factor to the illness. I'm just glad now though or else hubby would be mad again and blame all things to coffee and would hide the coffee in the from me. Oh hubby.. what he didn't know I know where all those coffees are being hidden... or.. it is very easy for me to buy instant coffee just outside our house. hahaha.
