Hello Lotters,
If your thinking on who to choose better to lead our country, you better study on how to vote for the right president down below to help us move forward. the one thing i fear is has come, our far away west neighbor United States seen themselves unable to send us more money to fund government projects. this is different from the trillions of debt that we owe in the World Bank.
Millenium CHallenge Corporation sees our country as growing into a middle income class by 2016. I doubt it, though there are progress, i think with the high corruption in the country it's gonna sink again with the lack of political will and more on politicking. I am not dumb to understand that US is in big trouble over this last few years financially.
How much do you trust on the current administration to keep walking on the straight path? we still have so many problems, i guess this is something we have to endure when the time comes.
We can't rely on other loans, or grants coming from other countries anymore...
but it seems some government agencies find it more comforting to loaning and importing stuff.
for more info. not a referral link.

Well presidential election will be 3-4 years from now so I guess it is too early to really think about it. We have to contend what the majority has chosen to lead this country for now. I can understand US agency to temporarily stop lending funds because their country is in dire need to improve their economy as well. With the coming election in their country I guess all citizen will be focused on choosing their leader.
We cannot expect miracle from happening with our government. Corruption did not start from this administration, it has established way before this administration and no matter how strong willed those that are in the top to stop this they cannot eliminate them unless the citizen themselves would behave themselves and stop corrupting those in government. When businessmen would start paying the right taxes and jeepney drivers would follow traffic rules and not bribe the traffic officials when they violate traffic rules. This simple acts of corruption is I think the start of how corruption flourishes in our country.
A seed will not grow if you would not water it.

Hello Rsa101, well i dunno about our country being middle income earner because there's still lots and lots corruption every where still. right now, were lucky enough here to have getting funds from the commercial rent itself. but i gotta bad feeling that it's not enough now because of the bills getting kinda high lately.

I do not think that US will be totally abandoning us as an ally though. I think for now they will have to face their own local problems of course and eventually by the time they have recovered maybe they will come back again to help us out.
Well I guess domestically we should learn to stand on our own too. I guess it is not good that we depend on Foreign grants/donation/support. Although we welcome that if there are others who would provide help but then I guess we should not rely on them at all times because I know we should also learn to stand on our own and provide for our own.

Hello Rameshchow, Ithink US had this trouble since they started fighting terrorism in the middle east and the fall of the World Trade Center. I think Ron Paul was right about removing the US bases and getting rid of the immigrants in their country. but i hope when the time comes, my country is ready to stand on our own. because we are seriously not ready with out the US.

I think every citizen of a country is concerned about the financial health of their country. We know now that being popular in the local political front does not make a good collateral in securing financial aids from other nations. Any laymen would be able to understand that a nation need vibrant and strong leader to spearhead a good bilateral relationships with other nations heads to be on their good books. Nobody wants to be victims of a country that has gone bankrupt. Our country impending general election is just around the corner. The government of the day is dangling their carrots with a juicy budget for next year to blind the voters to give them the full mandate to milk the country's coffer! It will be a second distribution of free money of fm500 to each household earning less than. Rm3,000 a month. And I wonder where do the government get the money to splash around just to show that they are caring when the country is ladened with debts with the world bank.

Hello Zandi458, So far am seeing some improvements in this country, though not thorough felt. but when we heard about this peace treaty with the MILF i think it serves as a hope for the government because if it's no different, then wars and conflicts would still escalate. for now, am hoping that the peace treaty would be finalized. we will have 2013 elections next year and then four years from now it will be another presidential election, not sure who will win this time. i hope we get to pay our debts one day
