Our present educational totally changed. The question which appears for the exam are applications of the theories and points we study. So there is no need or significance of by heat them. The only thing the students have to do is just take the meaning of it and just to learn how to apply them in pratical life and as well as in questions.

They did not have proper time to apply the theory in piratical but one thing i agree

It is the duty of the parents to find them a lot of time for their studies. Less attention from the parents towards 
their kids is the one of the reason why the kids are using the improper methods to study

For marks..the movie 3 idiots shows clearly the side effects of by heart without getting the concept. Students should be inculcated this habit of understanding concept s from schooling.

now a days in any campus drive they are seeing marks only.
this is wrong.
even the students are also trying to get the marks only instead focusing on getting subject knowledge.
marks will be helpful to get a job but knowledge can help to lien lifelong,

I'm of opinion that Learning the subject with heart is the proper way to study..
Having intension to score high marks and earn knowledge only few do this.
