Manga, Manga, Manga!

Hi! It's my first time writing here, and I think this is a nice medium to express ideas. I regularly visit popular manga sites in search of good stories, though as much as I wouldn't like to admit, I am getting tired of reading books especially the very long ones! I never was a bookworm and I doubt I'll ever be, but it's just that and there's no helping! So I am like browsing the sites (particularly mangafox.com) hopefully to read a good series. By the way, I'm more of the type to prefer school life/romance/slice of life genre (I am not very fond of supernatural whatever, as they'll less likely happen to me in anyway). For the record, I've read a few, and the best ones for me are La Corda D'Oro, Kaichou-Wa Maid-sama, S.L.H. (this one's a bit of a fantasy, but it's still a good read though!) and others, I've forgotten a few, and some suggestions would be of great help always! And oh, I'm a dreamer so when I get the hang of it, I always wonder if ever I would have the lives of the characters in my fave stories. Such a nice thought, by the way. ;)

Hi. This is your first post, and you write about manga? I like you. The title I've been following since my school years is Saiyuki. But it's definitely not to your taste, I see. For me i prefer action, shonen manga like Bleach and Naruto (just naming a few from my endless list). Maybe because all of them feel like it's definitely fictional, i never have the thought of 'what if i lead the same life like the characters'. You have such a thought because you prefer reading slice of life and real-theme manga. It's good to dream, as long as you know the boundary.

Why, thanks! I am not really the kind who posts stories of my life or of others, that's why :P. I like Bleach, but I prefer the anime though.. :)

I love reading mangas too.. They are more fun to read than novels, although i also read them when i find an interesting one. I don't read long mangas though.. But why don't you try the top mangas listed in mangafox. The only manga i follow is Gakuen Alice.. i usually just read one shots... or those with only less than 10 chapters. I liked Beast Master.. really touching.

Manga....... By far my Fave titles are Elfen Lied and Gantz, Those mangas are way too violent for your taste though.I also read Naruto just to compare its difference with the Tv version.Currently I am reading Fate/Night. A good manga title I can suggest, I will give you Sakura Ganbaru, It is a spin off of the street fighter videogames. Its about a 16 year old Schoolgirl named Sakura Kusagano who wants to be a fighter so she can meet her crush Ryu. That manga may have fighting on it but its very cute. Sakura have ths innocence that will make you smile.

Ooohhh, Sakura Ganbaru seems intriguing. How many chapters has it been already? Must prepare for sleepless nights then for manga browsing. Hahaha

Sakura Ganbaru is in Mangafox I believe, If you know the videogame street fighter, you will be familiar with Sakura and Ryu. It has 2 volumes only but is worth reading.

You know first I started out just liking normal cartoons. Then I started looking at anime and to be honest I've been considering picking up some manga. The transition makes sense. We don't have any manga stores where I live but I was in a comic book store once years ago. Everyone that worked there was kinda creepy. I think I might try ordering some over the internet lol.
