From my understanding, having the attribute of 'empathy' is also essentially key in being a good leader. Compassion and emotional intelligence, also can be added to the qualities and skills.

To improve leadership requires improving oneself. Just like a good leader should also be a good follower. If a person is not a good follower, he should improve himself to be a good follower first to be a good leader. From there, improving leadership follows as well.

I think that the only way that you're ever going to be able to improve your leadership qualities is to practice being a leader, as this means that you would be improving all of the time. One of the tricks that I have learned in the past is that you have to basically pretend that you have to confidence to lead, and then other people will think that it is the case and will allow you to do so. If you let them know that you're not a confident leader then this is something that they're going to notice, and there is a chance that they would use this as your weakness.

Another good trait of a leader is understanding. Get to know all followers so they'll come to understand that you are genuinely interested in them. Make a plan of having to talk with them one at a time, particularly on their strengths and weaknesses. family background, lifestyles, etc.

To be a quality leader one as to be open, creative, respectful, disciplined, attentive, communicative, responsible and organized. To be open means that the individual must be able to listen and take suggestions from others and not closed minded to others opinions or suggestions. They must be creative; seeking ways and means to interest the members. Must be respectful to his or her own self as well as the members of the group or organization. Must display a strong sense of dicipline for oneself in order to guide others. Must pay attention to everything that is going on in the organization or group. Must communicative effectively with memebers or the roganization or group. Must be responsible enough to guide the group or organization; must show a level of maturity. Must be organized, canbe a good leader if you're unorganized.

What a great topic, rahularya, thanks for posting! Besides knowledge and confidence, I would definitely say that leaders need to genuinely care for those who are counting on them to make good decisions. Leaders of any organization need to take a moment and think about the impact of their choices on those who look up to them. They cannot simply make choices based on how they themselves will benefit in the short or long term. They need to put their people first and keep that attitude in their hearts and minds at all times. Peace! :-)

A leader, if he is a born leader then he will have have a megnetic personality. He is polite and soft spoken. He is someone capable of sharing his duty and coinvolving all. He attracts excellence and popularity. He creates great impression and influences the society. He is very constructive. He is tolerant and patient.

being a good leader means that you should also be a good follower. you lay out the plans and the rules, and then uphold it.
and also, to be called an effective leader, you must have a connection with your followers. knowledge and confidence alone wouldn't help you if you are not recognized and respected by your followers.

As they've said. Leaders are made not born. You may have a knowledge and the confidence but what matters most is the relationship we had with our subordinates. A great leader must have a harmonious relationship with other people.

I think to be a good leader, you must first be a good follower; those people tend to make the best leaders. Then you must be able to listen to those who follow, with understanding and compassion, but without weakness. People can sense weakness, and some will exploit that weakness. One must also be sure to delegate responsibility properly, and only where and when necessary. By that I mean you have probably seen leaders who have "circles" of friends within an organization that appear to have more power than their counterparts. Equal should be equal, and no power should be delegated to those who are not intended to have power. If you are in a position of management, and you have an assistant assigned to you, then they of course should have the duties of their position, but those duties should not be shared among others that are not assigned an assistant role.
Being a leader is difficult, as most of the responsibility rests upon the leader, but it is a role that can be productive and instill a sense of accomplishment in one who fulfills the duties of that position properly.

The most important trait of being a leader is hard work and being the first in line. If you are a leader make sure to serve and not to boss around. That is the number one rule that a leader should understand. Be a good example to be followed by others. If you are a good and hardworking leader the follower will do the same.

As a leader, you should be sensitive enough with the feelings of your members or followers for sympathizing with your members allows a leader to understand more about the true situation your members are in. In addition, it allows you to learn many things that will also contribute to the betterment of your leadership.

well, a good leader must have a characteristic to attract others such as genuine trait. Besides, underling or cooperative companion prefer the kind of people, who can make a determination and insist on doing efficient measures. There also a lots required things. Now I only know this two and maybe in the future, I will get other answers.
