The people in my region do not make use of rain water for drinking or for any other purposes. We people have one well each houses and each of the well have plenty of water.
Now a days the atmosphere is totally polluted. The water from the factories and other gases are just sent to the atmosphere and when the rain fall the those toxic gases gets dissolved in water to form acid or polluted water, which is not fit for drinking.

Though the rain water is polluted,it can be purified/filtered and can be used for drinking, right.

I don't think that each of the houses is set up with a facility to filter the water. I think that a rich can only set up. The middle class as well as rich depends on wells and other source of water.

we can use it ,after some process of purification .People who live in villages don't have water problem ,but those who live in cities ,have a drastic problem ,so it is better option. The water we use in cities are stored in reservoirs which in fact rain water. The water is properly cleaned and after some purification's they send it to the cities.

Well it seems like something completely reasonable to do since it is filtered.. though I don't really see the use of it. Perhaps if your area rains often and rains severely, then it seems like a logical plan.. :)

I have read in the past , where people say rain water is very clean. Ive never tried to drink it. But if its clean why not. Have a great weekend there.
