The lady I work with wanted to order from this local Japanese restaurent. I got a beef soup, and pork dumplings plus a smoothie. This soup will last me at least 3 -6 more meals. It's not bad but lacking taste, I may add some of my own spices in. But for $8 I can;t complain for the amount I got. Plus bonus is I can reuse the containers it came in. They are really sturdy and good quality as well.

I know that what I am thinking about when you say soup and dumplings is a thick and creamy soup with some fluffy dumplings in it. This is so very delicious. I've never, however, had Japanese dumplings, so I don't know anything about those. What I do know is that the beef soup is something that typically doesn't have a lot of flavor, but it is always something that is a great way to start a meal. This is one of my favorite things about visiting a Japanese restaurant.

It was a beef broth with rice noodles, and beef in it with dumpplings (that you can dip or put in). I am going to heat it up and add some of my own seasonings as it was very bland.

Oh, I hear Japanese food are great and delicious.. i haven't eaten any though, only Chinese.. But i guess, they have similar foods, or that taste is just close.. And yeah, that is cheap and quite useful..

Sounds like a pretty good deal. If it's the kind of flavor that would work, I would put different spices for a couple of different days so it wouldn't taste the same all the time. Beef soup sounds good, though.

For some reason I can eat dumpling in soup. .. I dunno I guess I don't like the idea of it being Ina liquid lol. I could only eat it with something like salt fish. I've always wanted to try Japanese dishes.

I guess we have our own style and things we enjoy or dont. I didnt mind it actually, but needed a little more seasoning.

Did you have gyoza? They look like moon shaped with frilly, pinched looking edges. I can eat a zillion of those - ha ha. I wonder what kind of soup you had exactly. Japanese cooking doesn't really have "spices" - so to some it might be kind of bland. Oh, and did you get those black containers with the clear lid? I like the quality of those too - kind of ashame to just throw them away, huh?
