Mr Gita Wirjawan isn`t afraid of china product comes to Indonesia

We know that many chinesse product flood our market..
and it makes many seller of indonesian product are afraid..
But Minister of trade business, Mr Gita Wirjawan isn`t afraid of this fact..
as long as we have effort for minimizing import trend for endangering the customer, iam not afraid..He said last saturday
but it against the data from BPS, import value in May 2012 had reached US $ 17,2 billions..and it beat the export value in May 2012..
I think the ministry of trade must do something
what do you think guys??

but he must do something too
if he can`t controlled what`s happen, it will danger for our local producen..
The government should gives maximum protection for the local producen..
in Japan, we hear about the policy called dumping...
It`s authority of government for protecting their local producent and it`s effective for any japanesse business..

Well, we cannot blame anyone for this but ourself for being consumptive and praising imported product than appreciate our own product. We cannot just put the blame on government for that or worse scenario put the blame on Chinese manufacturers for their products, even if the imported products flooding our market but if we as the buyer still choose our local products then there would be no problem at all and no fear to have competition with imported products. Chinese products has various qualities, from super cheap but low quality until premium quality products.
Local seller dont just expect government to help them in protecting their product and market from imported products, but they also need to make effort how to create good quality but affordable product, how to promote their product so customer is interested in buying the local product. This is free trade era, we can get imported product anywhere and buy other countries product by internet. There is no use to cry out that government doesnt help local seller from imported product, dont be childish, it is time to grow up and be independent not always depending on other people or expect the government to help them in many aspects. Dont just wait until government do something because they are too slow and they have so many works to do.
To the buyers and customers, they also need to change their mind set that imported product is the best. There are many local products that has better quality and even exported to other countries so do not be ashamed of using and wearing local products.

there are pros and cons if the government didn`t protect and give maximum protection to our local producent..
i understand your explanation..
it can be accepted..
but look at some of our small manufacturer..here i think the government role is needed.
assist them about how to manage their small company, bring them how to make loan on the bank
and after that, just give them a good policy to can compete with another company from another country

the situation in jogjakarta is very different with situation in several province in eastern part of Indonesia..
it`s not easy for asking loan from bank..we should prepare our business plan marketing and the flow cash..it`s not easy for some of the middle business..
the trade department here maybe isn`t active in your province..that`s the sad part of our situation here fashion..
bad government+ lazy government officer = must be repaired any supervision institutions like KPK, bawasda and Ombudsman..

Is that so? I know so many people get easy loan to start their business even if they have nothing as guarantee, some even free and dont have to return back the fund, as long as they follow the procedure. In my aunts village, some people get free sewing machine to start UKM, in other village the people get free bibit lele. You dont have skill to start a small business? Go to SKKB, you can get free training and certificate like sewing, fix cellphone or electronic, etc. What I see from many Indonesian people is that they are too lazy to try and expect to be feed all the time, like a spoiled children who needs their parents to do things for them all the time.
What do you expect from slow government like this? What do you expect from government and parliaments who only care about themself? If government is too slow and never done a real good thing, then try it by yourself, go seek the oppportunity and find the way to get out from the situation by yourself. Bad government + lazy people = broken country.

Government never affraid about any import products, cause they never care about local products.
They prefer to kill it rather then improve it, it refer to local products.
Take a look on how much case, rice, sugar, salt, etc.
They keep import it while many farmers get killed because of it.
Did they care about it?

Thanks for posting this discussion. Well i think there is nothing wrong in products coming from other markets and i think that would set a benchmark for the local market and would trigger them to work even more harder. But yes he should be aware of one thing that in the wake of allowing other products to come, the foreign market should not capture the local market.
