While doing mylot, I played my 3-yr-old son. He keeps giggling and running around my chair. Accidentally, he loses control and banged his head on the table which causes bleeding. It's just a small cut but it's in his head that's why it bleeds right away and I was so scared seeing blood flowing in his head. Anyone knows the best cure for this? Too bad... when his daddy knew what happened he blamed me and said that I'm always making my son cry. Is he normal? No mother out there wants her son to be in danger. My heart bleeds. Wanted to shout. Wanted to show him how I was hurt. It really hurts. *tears falling*

i'm sorry to hear that (for both situations). i think your husband is on to something, and he just makes every situation to pass the guilt on to you. i read you other discussion too. anyway, regarding that cut. since you are from ph, you might have heard about the "malunggay leaf". what it does is that it stops the bleeding. it's been used by generations i think. but since it's no longer bleeding, i think you should just try the usual way. some betadine will do. petroleum jelly would help too i guess. (and don't mind his daddy.)

oh yeah, i think guava helps too. i remember about that old practice of "pukpuk" circumcision when the boy would be told to chew some guava leaves and is expected of him to spit it on once finished. i never knew the ancient reason, but i think guava would somehow reduce some infection. well, i'm not so sure. and regarding that second paragraph. i'm sorry about that. and i wouldn't want to comment some more about it. it's somehow too personal already. anyway, be strong.

Guava is very good in wounds/cuts. It has disinfectant and promotes healing too while leaving the cuts dry. All I know I shared a lot of things here in mylot and mostly personal. In fact, I found mylot when I encountered lot of problems in my life in which it's too personal and luckily, everybody wants to help me. I just felt sad with your views.

An ice pack is good first aid for a head injury that bleeds. Use an icepack for about ten minutes or so. After that just keep it clean. Three year olds fall a lot, it is not fair of your husband to get angry about this. I hope your whole family is doing better now.

Really? An ice pack can do the job? I thought it's only for bruised. Isn't it messy if applied to cuts? My hubby never think before saying something bad. Don't he realize that our son always got injured too when he played with him! I'm still not okay for now. Lot of problems and my hubby is doing nothing. He didn't even do his job as a father.

Jenith wrap the ice pack in a clean cloth that you do not mind a little blood on. I keep red colored cloths for this as little kids do not notice the blood so much and do not get so scared with red rags. I am sorry for your stress and sadness.

Thanks for posting this discussion. Well i can understand your feeling and i think u should calm down yourself and try to sort out things as quick as possible. Small kids especially the toddlers are always playful and carefree and in the process might bang against anything they come across. i think u should at first apply a band aid after using a cotton to take off the blood from his head. Then allow him to atke rest for a while until he recovers. What say?

My son was so energetic and maybe kids like his age are so active too. He doesn't want to take rest. With regard to my hubby, he was undescribable! Don't know what to do with him. In fact, he loves to spend money but doesn't have plan to find a good and stable job for us not to worry financially.

I feel for you. i'm not a mom yet but I know how you moms really loved your children. I know how you hurt if your child gets hurt and you didn't mean it, but I also understand his dad, maybe he is just worried about your son. The best thing you should do is to really watch out for your son, I know accidents happen unexpectedly but keeping safety is still and should be our priority. Like what happened to your son, it is really scary seeing a blood flowing down from his head. Good thing you said it's just a little cut but when this happen, don't get nervous and scared. Important thing to do is to make sure to wash it with clean water and put a clean cloth on the area to stop the bleeding. Our body will work on it as well, we have "clotting factors" that also helps control bleeding. Our head is very sensitive, if he banged his head, definitely its painful you can also give pain relievers to alleviate the pain. For severe cases, watch out for signs of infections like fever. if this happen its very important to consult your doctor.

First thing come to my mind is when accidental cuts happen all you need is to wash it with water but how to do it when it's in your head just above your forehead? I was scared seeing blood continuously flowing. I need to call his dad coz I can't handle it anymore. Unfortunately, he got mad but he takes good care of everything. Maybe that's how he love us.

Hi Jenith, ouch...that must be painful for him. =( Sorry to hear that, and i know as a mum, you would surely feel the pain for your son too. That is definite! No mothers would not care for their own children, especially when they gets hurt. This is a natural feeling between a mother and child. I suppose you need to get his cuts cleaned up, and apply proper medication, otherwise pay a doctor a visit to cure his cuts. Hopefully your son is recovering well by now. =) Cheer up!
