Do you play sports to keep yourself healthy or to lose weight?

I have been wondering why most people play sports even though they are not going to be prosportsman. For some I would say it is a mean to keep the body healthy. And for some it is a mean to lose weight. Even some would say it is to relief some stress and just enjoy the game. So what is your say on this.

I play badminton to sweat all the extra calories out of my body and I also do volleyball as well. I would also love to learn kick boxing because I've heard and I have read that it's a good way to lose weight and tone your arms and legs as well.

Hi,welcome join MYlot.It's my honour to answer the discuss.I would be jogging every day.On the one hand,jogging can be good for me and it can relax me .Recently,I am very tiring for my studing,I have to study all kinds of lessons required.On the other hand,in the final exam,we are going to test running.My physical quality is very poor,which urges me to do sports.Haha,thank you for this!!!! Could you give me some advice about exercise?

I have lost weight over the past couple of years, and I always wanted to start playing a sport. I played while I was at school, and I think that it is the only reason that I didn't gain a lot of weight back then. I do things like go for walks or the occasional jog now, and I have an exercise bike which I use, but team sport is something that I have never had the chance to go back to. I know that my old school have a netball team that play once a week, and this is something that I would like to get into but I don't want to go on my own so would be looking for somebody to go with me.

In general, people play sports because they are fun or they fill a need for competition. I general I have found that people who join gyms or try to involve themselves in some health activity for the sake of being health will give up the activity quickly. Those that find something they like will get health as a side effect.
