I have had a PC for over 4 years now and im getting sick of how slow it is being so i want to buy a new laptop. I was thinking along the line of Apple's laptops, the Macbook Pros. Except i cant decide on which one. The brand new Retina display one that costs 2,200$, or the older version which is only 1,200$. Should i just get the older one? Or go the extra mile and save for the Macbook Pro with Retina Display? I cannot decide. I would be getting more with the Retina display one, but it would cost a LOT of money. While the older one is at a better price but does not have some of the outstanding features that are included with the Retina display model. What should i do?

Since you are able to spend more than 1200$ on a laptop, I really recommend you to buy a ultrabook and not Apple notebooks.
They are overhyped and overpriced.
Buying a ultrabook is kind of the same since it's light and fast.
For example: when you buy a ultrabook from Asus which costs around 900$, it's even faster and better than a MacBook Pro which costs around 2000$
I never recommend anybody to buy a Apple product unless they like their OS or like to waste money.

welcome to mylot. You must be a student. the decision for purchase will depend on how much money you have. if you are rich then go for the costly one new model. if you do not have much money best is to go for HP PC around $500 or so. or laptop around $500.
