I Clearly Heard Her

I was doing the laundry last Saturday morning. My husband was cleaning the chicken which he was going to cook for our lunch. There is a window in the laundry room facing the kitchen sink where my husband was. Then I heard my husband's niece calling me, "Tita Jen?". I thought she must be feeling better after having on and off fever for the last 2 days. Then I answered, "Yes, Gine. Why?". But I never got a reply. I peered through the window and didn't find my husband's niece. So I just shrugged it off. I thought I was just hearing things. Then my husband asked me if her sister has chicken coz he would cook it with out chicken so her sister doesn't need to cook lunch for her kids. I told him that her sister still needs to go to the grocery and that it was still quite early for her to get up on a Saturday morning. Then he said, "I thought they are already awake. Didn't Regine just called you earlier?". I was surprised coz he did hear it too! And so I wasn't just hearing things. An hour later, my sister in law came out of their house. I asked her if she just woke up. And she said yes. I asked where her daughter was and she told me that her daughter was still in their room and still has fever. Then I told her about the voice of her daughter that I heard. She got goosebumps! Just last night, she took her daughter to the hospital coz she still got the fever- the 4th day. And then Regine was admitted due to Dengue fever.
