Why Diana Ross always makes me happy

Shortly before I turned eleven years old The Supremes had a hit record with The Happening. I loved the song so much that as soon I heard the first notes, I ran to the radio to put my ear on it (at that time we had a distribured radio: one box with a knob for the volume and one to choose between all 3 channels hehehehe).
No wonder what my birthday present was. Since then i have been collecting everything that came out by The Supremes and later of course also all about Diana Ross.
It was only two and a half year later that The Supremes had their Farewell concert in Las Vegas: Diana Ross was going solo.
My parents and friends never understood why i love her songs so very much and frankly; I never gave it a thought. I liked it and that was it. Untill some years ago a friend gave me a copy of an 'over all review". I can't remember the writer's name but i do remember very well that on remark he made: "Ross' music is uplifting". The recognition was there and I could only agree from the bottom of my heart.
There has been written a lot about Diana Ross: she was elbowing her way to the top, gossiping about other (Motown) artists, always wanted to be in front etc. etc. It's hard to tell if this is all true. Sure enough I guess Diana did what we all do: make efforts to reach our goals. Nothing wrong with that. After all: only dead fish go with the flow.
Personally I think Diana Ross is a wonderful woman, mother and artist. She has a very positive attitude and likes to spread it. This positive thinking is exactly what you can hear in her songs.

That is a natural reaction from a diehard fan like you my friend. We have nothing bad to tell against our idols because they are the love of our eyes and the angels
of our ears to hear. Our time of the day never stop searching the updates of idols
where are their schedules so that we can watch their shows.I also like Diana Ross
when she performs and sings her songs, yet I like much more Michael Jackson.

Probably you are right. Between you and me: of course I don't like all Ross did. But true, my adoration is almost worshopping. Fortunately there is much more music I like as well. And that goes from classical to blues, jazz, pop, alternative, French chansons to today's music. No matter what kind as long as it has a certain quality. But that, i guess, is very personal.

I am just worried that my idol was no more to be seen anymore.Just like Elvis Presley
I like to hear his music with cool voice of love songs.I also like the Bee Gees and the Cascades. As long as their are music and the musicians,I could felt their melody and I like it in a mellow sound.I must admit that the music of yesterdays are much more beautiful than the music of today.
