i think some of us know Lance Amstrong.
Lance Edward Armstrong is an American former professional road racing cyclist. A former world champion, he also won the Tour de France a record seven consecutive times between the years of 1999 and 2005.
we know it because he wins Tour De France 7 times from 1999-2005
but it will be gone...
UCI (the Union Cycliste Internationale) had taken the trophy of 7times Tour de France from Lance Amstrong because of Doping case.... In June 2012 the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) charged Armstrong with having used illicit performance enhancing drugs, and in August they announced a lifetime ban from competition as well as the stripping of all titles. On October 22, 2012, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the sports governing body, accepted USADA's verdict and confirmed both the lifetime ban and the stripping of all titles since August 1998..These included the Tour de France titles for the years 1999 to 2005.
What a sad news for Lance Amstrong and of course his fans..
I support what UCI had done..even for the legend..when the decision say no to narcotics and drugs, it means you must be consistent..Even maybe it`s the unpopular decision...
Mc Quaid said that it`s not first time cycle world is in the intersection and must start from the zero and Mc Quaid didn`t resigned from his current position even this decision maybe scandal because the big succesfully Lance Amstrong in Tour De france..
Tour de france is identic with lance amstrong..and it`s weird if someday we hear a new winner of tour de france from 1999-2005
What do you think about scandal of Lance amstrong?? what do you think about Lance Amstrong personality??

My husband told me about this and I think that it is just sad
He likes Lance Armstrong, even has this Livestrong sunglasses by Oakley
It is good that UCI is consistent with its stand, despite the unpopular decision. I just hope that Lance Armstrong was not misjudged.

I think that in this day and age of mulitmillion dollar contracts for our sport stars they are going to do what ever it takes to make more money and in order to make more they have to hit harder, ride longer, and be stronger and will do it what ever way they can. The fact of the matter is that this is a problem that we have created by allowing these people to be put up on a pedastal and worshipped. If you don't want to hear about it any more then I would have to say change the way that sports are viewed by people. They are just human and they want to make their fans happy. Can you fault them for wanting to please? As for What Lance Armstrong did I have no anger towards him as he was also helping people that really needed help. His livestrong foundation has helped so many and it continues to raise money to help cancer victims. I feel that he made a mistake and is now paying for it but hey who has not made mistakes in their lifes. If we all were perfect then there would be no discussions on my lot . Lance Armstrong is more than just a sport icon he is human and to error is human. People just need to stop making these people out to be more than they are then they would not have such a high expectations to live up to. I will always love Lance Armstrong and the fact that he doped says to me that he is human just like the rest of us. Not above the temptations.

Yeah, it's really sad that it was only this year, the committee found Lance guilty of the charge. I also appreciates the decision of the UCI, stripping the titles from him. It is called competition because, contenders uses their stamina and speed to win. He not only fool his fans but himself too.

You bet it is. What's the use if they would cheat others just to win. It's unfair, competition is about fair game.

It is a sad day for the sport of cycling. I'm hoping that the sport will move on and be better for it. Unfortunately I get the impression some of the vultures are just starting to get their knives sharpened. I can see an effort to crucify the man coming. I wish the sport would just move on. Stripping the titles should be enough but I don't think some will be happy until Lance Armstrong is a corpse. This is only going to further tarnish cycling.
The Tour de France officially will not name winners in his place. That is appropriate. Every other person during that period is already tainted by the same type of scandal. What's the point. By the time that would finish, they might end up naming some rider who finished 132nd the winner. I don't think that would serve anyone.
