dropping gas prices

I never thought I'd see it but gas prices have been dropping steadily over the past few weeks. No my hubby says it's because we are now getting the winter blend instead of the summer blend of fuel. Now if it was only a difference of a few cents I'd agree but we've dropped atleast .30 around here. I personally think it's because it's an election year. Anyone know why the prices are dropping still as of October 2012? No I'm not complaining just trying to figure out why did we have to sit on such high prices and now it's finally dipping downward instead of being close to $4/gallon.

If you find it out, you may have a cash cow on your hand. You will be more important the the weather people, and hopefully more accurate. While you are at it can you explain to me why it is one price in one town, and the next town over, in the same county is anywhere between 8 cents cheaper or more expensive on any given day. I am glad that the prices are dropping a bit. I seem to do a bunch more driving in the winter because I have to drive farther to find indoor entertainment for my child than finding outdoor entertainment close by.

I've noticed that too. That would drive me batty especially if you had to fill up before you saw the price in the next town or two over and then wonder why is there such a difference? And of course that happens when you NEED to get gas and have to put something in the tank to get you where you are going.

It's not an election year here in Canada, or even Ontario where I live and gas prices have been dropping here too. Like you said, continually dropping every day for the past couple of weeks. I thought it was because the premier of Ontario stepped down (finally!) but obviously THAT's not the case. Perhaps your husband is right.

I heard something about new refineries coming online, but I barely heard it, so I'm not sure what it was all about, except that they said it would drop gas prices. For once, it's not about politics?

I'm not sure just what I heard about it but I do know that the reason they haven't built new ones up to now is because the restrictions the EPA puts on them makes the price exorbitant. In theory, grocery prices will come down somewhat because high transportation prices is one of the things they say is causing food prices to raise. Don't hold your breath, though. I suspect that crop failures has a lot more to do with that. Some sectors just like to blame the oil industry for whatever happens.

Well then they need to get their butts in gear and open up a few more to really drop the prices. When prices for gas stay low the economy seems to do better because our wallets do better. Too bad grocery prices won't drop with it.

I was just out and about and I noticed that gas prices dropped again here. The gas station up the road from me has gas for $3.12/gal that is down at least 30-40 cents from a few weeks ago. I am not sure what is causing the price to drop like it has been, but I will take it. I need to get gas later today so I am glad it went down again.

Ooooh that's close to $2.99! Yesterday we were $3.29 of the ones I observed being the cheapest the same one is across the way they are $3.21 this morning. I have less than 1/4 tank left but I don't really need to get any gas til tomorrow so I will hold off til tomorrow and maybe it'll be a lil cheaper *LMAO* I'm root'n for $2.99 or less! COME ON DOWN!

The gas prices in Nevada are dropping as well, but they are still 3.80 per gallon. I hope they come down even further so we can fill up the gas tank instead of only filling it to a certain amount. I do feel that it is because it is closer to the election that the prices are lower. I hope they continue to drop lower.

You're paying $3.80!?!?! We are down to $3.33 in WI. I know there was a pipeline that had broken several months back a few hours north of there but the prices were alot higher then and didn't change much even with that incident. I wish they'd go under $3/gal, even better back to under $2/gal would be nice.

not happening around here! And while Texas normally has lower gas prices than most of the country, we've been creeping up for months!

Gas prices dropping? My husband should know that but so far I haven't heard him rejoicing. Oh well, if it is true then that is a good news. We've been sitting on high prices and we are helpless with that. We can't really do anything but complain. AT least now the prices are going down and whatever maybe the reason I hope this trend remains.

gas prices have been dropping here, too. They have dropped 45 cents in the last few weeks. I am not sure why the prices are going down but it is nice to see! It would be nice if they kept going down and stayed down! That won't happen but I can dream!

My husband mentioned the same thing you did. That because it's close to election time gas prices are dropping. I too am very happy that the gas prices are dropping. It's just sad that they were so high when it could of been this low. It's really crazy how it can change so quickly.

Usually gas prices drop after the Labor Day weekend, but I think that they're dropping even more because of the election. Dropping of gas prices will effect the swing states in the election, so I think it's politically motivated.

I just hope though that it will drop more I mean to that level where fare would go down too. I would be very happy if politicians will really drop it down till election is done at least we people both with cars and non would be happy for it. I'm tired of getting that gas price high and motors hike too. Just last month I think I was not able to go to where I should go because of jeepney hike. I was afraid I would be stranded somewhere due to no jeepney to ride of. I hope we'll be able to get a good Christmas time this year co's the gas price is low and the basic commodities are low in price as well. Oh if this happen we would be happy co's it means we don't have to give extra to siblings that we sends to schools. Happy mylotting!

I heard that they were going to drop around here too, and I wondered why. At first I thought maybe because of the election, and the President was trying to do something nice for everyone, but then it occured to me. I'm in CANADA!!! LOL I don't drive and neither does my husband, but we take buses and taxis every day, so we use vehicles that use gas, even if we don't drive 'em. It'll be nice to see the taxi drivers get a little extra money because gas prices are down.

Really gas prices is dropping. It's a good news for people. But i don't know how long this situation would last.Maybe gas prices would increase again soon. I've heared the reason from newspapers. Now the global economy is not so good. People have not so much money to spend on cars as before, so more and more people prefer to public transport, so the needs of gas is dropping, then prices is dropping as well. While global economy is recovering, the gas will increase again definitelly.

The election year in the Philippines is next year but the same thing here, the price of gasoline is also dropping, so I think this is not because of the coming election there in the US but because of supply and demand. Cheers and happy mylotting
