Friends to celebrate the victory of the force of GOOD AND TRUTH OVER EVIL, we celebrate ‘Vijaya-Dashmi’ or ‘Dusserah’, the great symbolic Hindu festival. So let’s celebrate an auspicious day to begin new thing in life and believe in blessings of God for good. A 51 feet high statue of the TEN HEADED Demon, ‘Ravana’ has been erected in the open ground here; it is filled with fireworks and crackers , in the evening someone dressed as God ‘RAMA’ will shoot an arrow having fire at tip at it; this will burn the statue and reduce it to ashes. This symbolizes the VICTORY OF GOOD AND TRUTH OVER EVIL. Happy DUSSERAH wishes for all my friends and their family around the globe. Dive in to the season of festivity and enjoy the moment of eternal happiness. Wish you all strong, successful and healthy year ahead. ll Sarve Bhavatu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramaya Sarve Bhadrani Pashyantu, Ma Kaschit Dukhabhagbhaved ll Let’s celebrate together. Any such festival or similar festival there in which you burn statues? Please share your views and comments. Please keep responses clean. Thanks in advance. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . Cheers have a lucky day ahead. October 25, 2012

Hi Baba... Well, here in Assam, we dont celebrate dusserah though in some places people have begun to celebrate it, still not so common. And again, do you think Ravana was an evil person? if so why? This is always complicated to me and i cant make myself satisfied to say that Ravana was an evil. Anyway, have a nice time.
