Good news to all PhilHealth members especially those under the Individually Paying Program. The increase in premium contributions form 300php per quarter to 600php per quarter that should start October 1, 2012 was deferred. The new premium will start on January 1, 2013 and the option to pay the qualifying contributions for January - December 2013 for 1200php only is also extended until December 31, 2012. So for now you can still pay 300php covering October - December 2012.

Well, in my opinion my friend, the earlier that the increase will be implemented, the earlier too that the health benefits under Philhealth will be improved.
So, is the increase in premium just for those individually paying ones?

i agree with you. but we have to understand that there are certain people who do not have the means yet to pay the premium increase, so this will give them a chance to pay their premiums and avail their philhealth benefits. for clarification that increase is for those non-professional individually paying member.
the increase in premium for the professional individually paying member(doctors, lawyers etc)started this year (January 1, 2012) as well as the OFW (from 900php they now pay 1200php, and next year they will pay 2400php the same amount the individually paying members will be paying). and the premium of the employed member will also increase next year January 2013.

Oh is that so? Thank you for the information, my friend.
I haven't really read a newspaper or even heard it on news yet. But i have been hearing that indeed there will be an impending increase in premiums for employed persons too. I just hope that it will not be much so we will not feel its gravity on our salaries.
But i salute Philhealth, because it is indeed a great help to the people. i was twice operated on, and Philhealth paid form a part of my bills, before my health card does their share too.
