It's hard to accept but I guess it's yes. Because I find many Filipinos very lazy and unproductive when it comes to their work. I don't take it as a general. But I've seen many Filipinos especially who works on government office being unproductive and lazy on their jobs. :)

Sweeping generalizations regarding a race actually exposes your limited perception about the people you are talking about. You cannot just judge all Filipinos based on the indolence and inefficiency of the government workers you saw.
Filipinos working abroad are most seen in high regard by foreign companies because we are hardworking and effective. Perhaps you should research more.
Its true that in government offices, many workers are the worse you can find but there are also those who work hard and are honest. This ugly culture in the government offices in my opinion are slowly getting corrected and soon eradicated, but it takes time since this has been going on for many years.

I agree with you that foreign companies oftentimes have high regard for Filipinos. In my current company, the recruiter told me that the clients tell them that they actually prefer Filipino employees because we are hardworking aside from the fact that we have good command of English considering that is not our native language.

Wow, I don't agree on that. It's not a sweeping statement that we Filipinos are the laziest. There are still people there, working hard for a reason.
But there are people here that are lazy by nature, people who will wait for the rice grain to be fed on their mouth. They may be passive on the things that needs action, there is no initiative on their part.
The government offers some opportunities for us but we are the ones, who must find a way to have a legal means of source of income.
Thanks

I don't believe Filipinos are the laziest people on Earth. I even doubt that it has something to do with the nationality. I know a lot of people who are really really industrious and hard working. The thing with Filipinos though is they are too honest and impatient. They are too honest that they immediately feel guilty once they see something wrong that they tend to tell other countries that Philippines is this and that. I am guilty with that!

I agree with you somehow that it hasn't something to do with nationality. :)

No we're not the laziest. Its very easy to think we are especially when we compare Filipinos against what you sere in foreign tv or movies. But in reality there are far more nationalities that are lazier than us. In one country i have been to, the cashiers slouch in their seats and enjoy long chats with their friends even if the queue in front of them is long. I was telling myself that if they have worked in the Philippines especially in SM malls, they would be reprimanded badly by the store supervisor right then and there.

I agree on that mrsuniega! Our OFWs are the most highly prized employees because they deliver such quality output. They value their jobs so much. I think who says that filipinos are lazy are just plain ignorant.

Yes, I agree with you for some reason that there are lots of bystanders on the streets. There are a lot of unemployed also in here. But in other countries, Filipinos are known for their being industrious and dedication to their work so I think it was just in balance. Some are lazy , some are industrious.lol

Hello toxic, there are some who are lazy in this country, but that doesn't mean it's all of them. most filipinos are very hard working but most have trouble saving money because some spent on bills or probably other things that are not important. i don't agree that they are mostly lazy on their jobs, the problem is that people aren't motivate because of ow corrupt the government is.

NO! I don't agree. There are lazy people anywhere in the world. Filipinos are one of the most sought after in the labor force be it at land, air and sea because of their skills and commitment to their duties. One need to gather facts first before unjustifiably and negatively labeling anyone. The defect of a black-sheep does not render the whole flock undesirable.

Case to case basis. You can't say that the tambay in eh tindahan is not lazy because it is definitely is.But I also know some people who are really hardworking. I guess it depends on on their outlook on life. Take my mother - she's very industrious. She won't rest even on a Sunday even if it is house cleaning or work. I try to tell her to take it easy but she's stubborn. When you tell that to the tambay, he complains or ignores then smokes, drinks or even gossip.
Not everyone is lazy or industrious. It depends n the person you are referring to.

I don't take it as a whole. Besides, I didn't said that all Filipinos are lazy. I'm just saying that most of them are. :)

Well, in a way yes. It is because people are lazy especially the government. They just corrupt the money from our tax.

Hi,
No, I don't agree. I believe it's not the laziness that make Filipinos unproductive, In my opinion, we are hardworking but lots of us also do extra that are not suppose to be part of our job and I am not talking about part-time jobs. And also the maniana habit is making it hard to be productive because most of us usually take for granted the important things that we are suppose to be doing because we choose to do other stuff like gossiping and gambling.

I will never agree on that premises.
There may be lot of Filipinos employed in government offices whose works are much to be desired but I think they still just a minority. I still believe that we Filipinos values hardwork and perseverance.
Cheers and Happy mylotting!
