I like watching sports anime as they give meaning what the sport is all about. Currently there are not much sports focus anime lately so the one that is currently at the top of my list Inazuma Eleven GO Chrono Stone. This anime not only focus on sport and school life but also their love for the game they play. So what is your favourite sports anime?

I love anime but I am not really into Sports Anime. But I love the Price of Tennis series. This anime totally changed my view about Sports anime. I also like Slam Dunk and so far, these two are my favourite.

I love watching sports animes for the same reason. My favourite anime is Hajime no Ippo. It's about boxing and I love the level of realism and the humor in it. I would also recommend Capeta, it's an anime about karting. I love the element of the 10-year old kid with a dream in a sport which requires high financing. It's the ultimate underdog story - every race is a struggle to survive and keep on moving up. And there is a rain race in episode 30 which makes me cry every single time. Capeta's machine is at its limits, he can't even finish the qualifying session with it and his team hopes for rain because then skill matters more. If he loses it's all over, that machine will not make it for the next race and with this his dreams will be over. It really rains at the race and Capeta struggles through the whole race using his body weight to help him take the corners and pass the other drivers and ultimately loses the race fainting at the finish line and crashing due to the pain of having his ribs broken. The soundtrack is amazing and that race makes me cry every time I watch it.

For some reason I couldn't get into Inazuma Eleven at all. I typically love watching sports anime but this one was a bit too out there for me. I think it might be due to the fact that I prefer the more realistic shows. IE had a bunch of super special techniques and people powering up and all that going on.
My favorite sports series would probably have to be Okiku Furikabutte (called Big Windup! in the US). I'm not a fan of baseball but this one drew me in. I like the fact that the main guy, Ren, is not this super prodigious athlete (something you see a lot of in other series) but rather a very hard worker who loves playing baseball. However, he has really low self-esteem and and believes himself to be a bad player. This was mainly due to his situation with his middle school team. But when he enters high school he gets roped into joining the team and we get to watch him grow as a player and a person. It's a really good series that really shows the characters' development as the story progresses.
Some other good sports anime are: Slam Dunk, Kuroko no Basuke, Major and Cross Game. The first two are basketball and the other two are baseball series.
