and ask "Why Me Lord?" In am sure many others of you have been there, and are feeling almost the same way as well. Mine today is pertaining to this Chronic Wound that for some reason never seems to improve like I am wanting it too. It just seems like every time we might be getting somewhere it seems like there is a bigger size wound, etc. just a couple weeks later. And then since I keep on getting blamed for everything at the Wound Clinic instead of wanting to offer suggestions, etc. I leave wondering it the misery and frustrations will ever end.
Personally since I started the Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy it has not all been a loss, but when I am delivered such discouraging News I wonder when and if it will ever change. We are getting to the end of the yr. and now I begin to think it will carry on until 2013 for sure. More money, and maybe someone being able to finally help end this?
They say the depth has gone down an inch in 3 weeks which is good, and since I started doing the hyperbaric oxygen, but the size is bigger again. Of course they did not want to debreed or give any suggestions except for can't I afford to take some time off and elivate? Wow!! Do they not realize I work a real job with Medical, and own a house I do have a House payment with each month. Or how would they get paid if I lost my Medical by doing this?
Yes, as you can tell I am feeling quite down and stressed. I know I have been praying and many here have as well, but personally when is this ever going to end? I know God is in control and I need to continue to Trust him but sometimes it is hard. To give up sometimes just seems a lot easier. So just continue to lift me up in Prayer, and maybe my Miracle is coming and I just might not have seen it yet?

hey, KrauseHome! I am sure you are going to be fine in a few weeks. You just need to hang on and believe that everything is going to be alright. We often do not find the answer for all the problems that we encounter, but with string faith, we can encompass this phase. I will pray for you.

Hi Tina,
I just want to send you my prayers and I hope and pray that your condition will get better. I'm not actually familiar with the condition you have just mentioned, but I know in any conditions there is always hope. I hope that you get courage from fighting it out and so many victories are won by faith in God and the continuous desire to fight. Try to think more of pleasant thoughts and memories which would help speed up your healing process. Always hope and always trust, and we will help pray for your condition. I know it can't be easy with something that has taken so long and is still not healing. Maybe, with it not being as deep, that is a good sign, even though it is temporarily larger. I wish you the best and hope you can see some really great improvements very soon.

Well, since I started this post, the wound did get a little smaller and most the time the skin is looking better so the doctor who works with people who are getting hyperbaric oxygen said the leg does look a lot better than it has. It is just going thru a lot of changes right now with the skin etc. So I am hoping this continues to be good sign.

It sounds good! I hope you continue to see improvements as well.
It's my turn to scream now, though. I haven't decided whether or not to make a discussion out of this but I was just released from the hospital yesterday after being taken there by ambulance 3 days before. It seems I now have 'benign paroxysmal positional vertigo'. I developed an extremely bad cold the Saturday before and laid down for a nap on Thursday. A few hours later, I woke up, still fine, and sat upright then the world began to end! The room was spinning violently, even with my eyes closed, so I laid back down but that didn't stop it. After a few minutes, I couldn't move my arms, legs, anything. So, the ambulance was called. They did an MRI while I was in the ER which at least did not show any strokes but did show a massive infection in my sinuses so this could partly be caused by infection in my middle or inner ears.
I'm still very dizzy at times but I am able to walk with a walker or if there's someone I can hang on to. I'm on antibiotics and an anti-vertigo medication and basically just taking things one minute at a time.
If it's not one thing it's another, huh? My husband is home from his ordeal at the hospital (after a double bypass this time) and seems to be recovering although he's still smoking and drinking, the idiot.
It looks like I will have to reevaluate my entire life and make some major changes. What I have will never go away. It will get better, then come back again and continue doing that for the rest of my life, according to the doctors. So, I'm going to have to give up driving and a lot of other things.
I HAD applied for a government job with the Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C. as a proofreader. They've opened up 15 jobs there paying a massive $35.73 per hour! I figured I could bear a little pain and stiffness for that kind of money but now I have to turn it down if they end up offering me the job. That really hurts!
Such is life, huh? Again, I hope you continue to improve and can write a new discussion very soon telling us that your wound has finally healed completely.

i know what you mean. i have felt like this for years now with my darn medical problems. it seems if one thing gets better something else pops up. i, like you just get sick and tired of being sick and tired and it never seems to end. a person has to be brave to get old and stay here on earth.

Hi krause, hi bunny, I would like to help you. I pray daily, every day for people like you in need of support, I wish I had better words to comfort you both.
I have a friend, my best girl friend since 24 years ago. Since I met her she is in wheelchair, and had similar wounds as you Krause. But I admire her so much because she has been very brave, her parents got divorced many years ago. But she got strenght and got married and had two kids by c section. And she moved abroad to a better country, and she has better chances now. But her body is always causing her pains. I would like to help you better. I just can say that each day, no matter what I pray for you and all those who need our Lord with them.
Blessings krause & bunny... dainy

yeah, everyone has to scream sometimes to let out your emotions ,sometimes i think it is a rather healthy way though,it is a release after screaming out,but if you have a very serious emotional problem, you should face it and handle it,screaming out is a way,but it can not sort every problem..

That is True... Screaming out at times is Good and can help sort some problems, but for the most part I have learned even with this situation to just wait it out more and Pray about it, and usually in time everything will be ok. There have been many people praying and I am starting to see some Good results, so continuing to hope for the Best from here.

I think the hardest thing about chronic or long term illnesses of any kind is discouragement. It's hard to stay positive when we don't know when or if a situation will change for the better.
Since you have faith in God, may I suggest that you simply begin to praise Him? It's amazing what praise can do to our attitudes and our overall health, both mental and physical.
I have multiple health challenges and I sometimes get discouraged, too. I am learning (slowly) that when I get my mind off my troubles and on to God, nothing seems quite as bad. I had heard that all my life, but living it is different.
I will pray for you.

God has always been my personal savior. I even feel guilty because He has always been there despite doubt and sin. I do not forget to thank Him though. In cases like yours, depression is normal but I do hope you get your hopes up soon and have continuous faith in the Lord. Get well soon and Godspeed.

but tina heres a thought I have and God knows I am not a medical person but if the wound depth is getting less deep perhaps its shallower so it widens a bit? Do you have a job where you sit as you could elevate for a few minutes maybe a few times a day til you are home. I am supposed to do that too as I g et swelling in my ankles. oh I do hope you see some changes and I will just keep on pra ing too as I know he finally answers prayers but in his time. i am do glad you ha ve mylot so you can talk to us and at least let off some steam. so metimes it does help a bit.

Personally my friend, that is what I have been thinking as well. The one doctor does not really know enough to be much of encouragement and help. But the doctor who is in charge of the hyperbaric oxygen unit has really seen a difference and says this is working and helping so that is the main doctor who will communicate with my insurance the most. Just will be glad when and if this ever decides to heal and hoping it will all stay healed this time.

Hello my friend KrauseHome Ji,
Well, I always feel taht there is a end of everything, including your wound. Also, what you mention that depth is going down and area is increasing, I thin it is positive sign and you will get rid of this wound. Have patience. I wish an early recovery.
May God bless You and have a great time

Hi Tina,
I’m sorry you are going through all this, but you know that working with your legs down and in that dirty environment isn’t the best way to heal your leg. Could you not get your doctor to give you a written permit for a medical leave? I mean, do you have sick time you can take? Like maybe a couple of saved up vacations and sick leave might give you at least a month off with pay. In the meantime, you might also apply for SSDI, because you are chronically at risk of a bad infection. I’m worried that you will lose your leg to gangrene.
Your leg ulcer is very serious because it won’t heal. Has the doctor put you on any special diet that will keep your glucose levels in check?
I bet the docs are as frustrated as you are, and they probably think that you aren’t doing enough on your own to get yourself better. You might be doing everything right, but to them they must have an explanation that doesn’t reflect badly on them.
Truth is, not everyone is helped when they have the issues you have. I know God is in control, but as we know, that God doesn’t heal everyone. Our healing often comes with acceptance of the things we can’t change, and our healing also takes place when we close our eyes to this world and open them in the next.
My Goddaughter will never speak, or be toilet trained or walk on her own. She is 23 years old, and yet she is an infant. She will never be higher functioning than she is, but in my mind she is perfect the way she is and her healing is our acceptance of her as she is.

I thought of something really scary too... and that is trusting God that time will be granted for you to take time off to heal and that you will go through the proper channels to continue to get an income. I feel the only way to heal will be to get out of that environment for a significant amount of time.

Whenever I want to scream, I always put on Michael Jackson's track 'Scream' with Janet Jackson makes me feel good and I can really get into the music. I have resigned myself to accepting that my depression will not go away, I can control it with antis and even if I have to be on antis for the rest of my natural then so be it, it least I can cope with life, albeit living for today not tomorrow. I found out today that one of my favourite teachers lost her battle to cancer. Why is life so cruel, why do some people suffer for all their lives and others seem to have everything? I guess we need faith or something to cling to, there has to be hope, without hope, life becomes a living hell.

Unfortunately, I've found it's easier for doctors to blame their patients when things don't go well rather than accept the blame themselves for either their negligence or lack of expertise. Is there a way you can get out of that clinic & find a better doctor/s elsewhere? I know exactly how you're feeling - been that way myself for years too - but have recently found 1 doctor who isn't afraid to treat infections aggressively. I've taken different antibiotics for years, but now am on Flagil (long course for the 1st time), which has surprisingly been quite effective. Just waiting for the end of the course to see if that'll put an end to all the infection.
Tina, it doesn't help to ask such a question. I've asked "Why?" but never "Why me?" 'coz really "why not me?" Everyone has both good & bad fall on them, Christians aren't exempt, but we have God's grace(& even power when necessary), to sustain/uplift us when tragedies do come.

WHy me, huh? This sure has been going on for a long time with what seems to me is no change. I would be down too. Are eating well? Have you had a physical lately. I think healing comes as much from the inside as the outside in matters like this. If you are not really healthy I would work on that. Are you diabetic? Are your levels okay? I think that at this point I would start coming from a different direction.
