Customer service reps are there to help us with inconveniences. But what if they turned out to be rude? I was booking a flight on Cebu pacific online when suddenly my computer froze. I immediately dialed the hotline number of the airline for assistance. My call was received by a call center agent who sounds irritable. Her voice sounds as if it will break my eardrums.Perhaps, she was feeling under the weather or she was tired. So, continued to ask her several questions. Then,
She asked, "which payment mode do you prefer?"
I replied, " Aren't you going to ask what my name is?"
" what payment mode do you preeeeeeeeeeee~~~~~~~fer?!! ,she retorted harshly.
I hang up the phone instead.

Rude customer service is very normal in my city, the airline CS may be is the best but still have a long to go to the perfect. For others especially the government service such as eletricity, transportation, custom and so on,the CS were so rude, and the private enterprises are bad as well.
So I just want to use the saying of Bill Gates to conclude it:Life is not easy, get used to it.

I think it's a hard job to work at customers service. Clear is that those who do call are not happy and have some issues or complains. They are just human beings and I would not like to have that job nowadays. The job is how to help someone in a very short time or how not to help at all but just make the customer believe you are (I know this by experience). It can be very frustrating. I also know myself that I am not always the most attentive, understanding person if I have to call customer service (mostly also if it's because I am not able to write them and I have to wait on the phone for hourse while I have to pay 1 euro or more a minute plus the costs of my cellphone!). I am annoyed, to me it's clear what is wrong and after giving my postcode, customer number etc, etc.. I expect the one who helps me to have that info already (instead of asking me this all over again). So I am annoyed and I am sure they feel that too. For me it's better to write and wait a bit longer as to call (I know myself). So how annoyed were you as you called?

I was not in bad mood when I called. In fact, I was very calm that's why I said that the customer service representative "rude".

I have had my share of bad customer service calls where you just wonder about some of these people and how they got hired. Actually, there has been bad customer service for me both face to face and over the phone. I think I'm just the most unfortunate person in the world to get the rather rude people. The kind of people who you would want to smack.
Yeah, that sounds like a rather annoying situation. Just listening to a person like that can be frustrating, especially when you hear a bit of rudeness. And there seems to be one like that working for any company. Granted, customer service could be the most thankless job in the world. However, being able to interact with your customers and doing so politely is something one would think would be important. But perhaps that is a misconception I'm under.

This is so disgusting.
She should not be in assistance department in the first place.
Her abrupt reaction should not be left unpunished.
She must learn what professionalism means.
You must file a complain about her.
Have a nice evening!

She could have had something on her mind, but there's still no excuse for rudeness. I had a similar issue a couple of years ago when I had a hospital checkup and one staff member was very, very snappy and rude. I let it go because I didn't at the time have the energy to do anything about it.

Soon as the supervisor of the Quality Assurance Assistance listen to that call- probably that customer representative will be busted- unless she can give a good reason why she acted that way.

Well, we do experience bad service from time to time..I think they can be more rude if we do not face them since we can't really report them. maybe she was just having a bad day, for whatever reason. But they should know to separate work and problems..

That would be really irritating indeed! You should have asked her name so that you were able to report it to their office. that shouldn't be the way to treat a customer.

That is just rude of her. No matter what situation she's in, no matter how tired or pissed off she is, professionalism should be observed at all times. Having a job and not liking it would be stupid thing to do. She never should have applied for the job in the first place.Anyhow, it also happened to me last night, i ordered noodles at a restaurant. I was waiting for the noodles for like 15-20 mins already so said, 'why are they taking too long to make my order. It only takes 3 mins to cook noodles.

Seems like Cebu pacific is in a lot of trouble lately. I have two friends who also had a row with their CSR for wrong information and rudeness as well. I know they have feelings and moods as well, but they have to know that in the service industry they are expected to be courteous at all times. That rudeness of the rep can be brought to the attention if the management should you wish to do so, and it's a valid complain. I don't know if it's because of the season and they're being swamped with lots of booking and irate fliers or she's just plain rude.
