would you agree to this? if a colleague has discovered a way of lying to management about overtime that was not spent or partially used but would increase the income of everyone in the office, would you agree to participate in the scheme? at least, overtime pay is what everyone wants and it wouldn't hurt where it helps everyone involved.

Just because everyone else is doing it, and it will benefit the majority of the people at work, that doesn't make it right. I also believe that what you earn in a snap will also be taken from you just as easily and with consequences. I would rather work hard for something and be rewarded for it. As much as it is tempting to have that easy money, I can never stomach feeding my family with "stolen" money.

hi, i loved to have an overtime pay because it is an additional earning for us,but of course i need earn them in the right thing and i don't need to lie just for that,so it will be fine to me to earn the minimum wage without overtime if i didn't work for that.

Depends on what company I'm working for. If the company already lies to the clients and customers about it's product, I'll most probably lie on earning money for overtime pay. It's a two-way street, as they say. Although if the company is honest, I would never lie to steal money from them.

you do have a great sense of humor, frontvisions101. if your company lies and is fraudulent in order to succeed, you better leave and find another employer. copying its tactics against it...you might end up in prison. how would it feel like telling that to the judge? it could sabotage your employment prospects in the future. you really are kind!

Although it may sound real tempting, but I'd rather not be part of it. I do not want to lose my job. As much as possible, I want to be honest in doing my job so that I am able to keep my job for a long time. Earning "easy money" doesn't give good results.

earning easy money the right way gives good results, no matter if large or small. what really matters is not encouraging graft that could put a stain on your reputation when you can do without. thanks jenny1015.

No I would not agree with it. It will also cost a company a lot of money if everybody is doing it. Over here it would not work everywhere either since in many cases they give you time for time. Which means they won't pay you for overtime in money but in free time. They will also check you out plus there are plenty of business now who don't agree with overtime anymore.

so many businesses don't agree because there are so many loopholes their staff can use to defraud them. it is costly but sometimes when overtime is essential, one cannot but ask his staff to have it.
