Been battleing pain under right ribs for a couple of months had 3 different scans nothing shows.
SO last month set in ER for 13 hours they do nothing I just set there waiting for them to figure what they gonna do I had already had the scans after all that time I got fed up so I left!
THree nights later I wake up with what I thought was my arms asleep but right arm not waking like normal and I had no control with my hand I would lift it up it just fell back down painshooting from back of shoulder to the little finger so 911 call . They get there and get me in the ambulance I walked to it and got in they cant find a pulse in my right wrist the medic had driver stop come back and do a double check poor feller thuought he had lost it but the driver could find no pulse either so rush me on to the hospital.
Of course they had a time finding a vein that would hold the IV needle poke poke poke!
THen I am told we gonna do an angio ok what ever Wake up they are telling me keep leg stright cant move ya know how that goes if you have had one.
COme to find out they couldnt go that way and I had a cut on my right arm in the bending part of it . THey had took out 2 blood clots! Doc said one was really BIG.
I get sent home.
About 3 weeks later the 8th of Oct. grand daughter comes in t say good night SHe says I aint talking right in my head I say am ok she runs gets her momma one look at me she is on the phone 911 agin. Am looking at her like what the hell I am talking to you why you look so funny . I understood eery ything that was said but my words werent makeing since to themas they were to me.
On way to hospital I amswered questions sometimes I made since to them other times I couldnt make the words come I got so mad I would grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
MOre needles more scans Mris 5 days in the hospital . I had had a strke! that effeced my speech side of brain
@ scans on my head an other on my neck. 70% blockage to the throat artory but doing nothing for was same for 2 years they will keep eye on it so Have to go back every 6 months to the cardio.
All speech back to mormal mostly by the next day!
THe thing is they have no answer to where the blood clots came from they saw nothing in the scans no break off place have no idea why I had the stroke!. all happened with no warnings!
RIght now the Doctors have all gave me a good bill of health. hmmmmmmmmmm
I am now walking 2 times a day going farther each time one good thing for me doing this for sure.

Wow..that was terrible! I so hate to hear you were so ill! You are a fighter..that's for sure. I am glad you are getting better. I am also glad that you had family around you when it happened. That can make so much of a difference as far as how fast things are reacted to. Take care and I will be thinking of you.

My goodness...you don't do things nby halves do you my friend?
When I was reading, I thought you were going to say a stroke and boy, were you lucky to come out of it so easily.
I'm glad you are walking, wish I could walk with you. I hope you continue to be well.
Hugs to you sweetie.

I was motivated after reading your discussion yesterday. I took my rubbish to the dump with the 3 dogs then we drove around the back and I left the car and we all walked for half an hour in the bush. We will go longer next time...it was good to have them as company and they loved it.Thanks dear friend.

That is so scary. I am glad that the second time your granddaughter knew to get mom and call 911. It is very strange about those clots, but walking should help. Did they put you on blood thinners as well? This motivates me to do more walking as well. It is amazing that you are regaining everything so quickly.

That certainly is strange. I guess you have pretty thick blood. . . or something. You know, some people do not clot enough, we are all so different.

I hope yoy are getting plenty of rest. I think it has to do with what you eat, but if you did not grow up rich or even middle class, you could only eat what your parents could afford. That is the trouble wiht getting older, no matter what we do we cannot make up for what went into our bodies when we were children. And sometiems strokes come wth no warnng. I hope you get your voice back to normal. Yes and walkkng is good for you and gets you out of the house.

Glad to see you are getting better. I know what it is like to know relatives who had strokes, mostly my in-laws. They were Mennonites and ate a lot of white things, perogis made with white flour, farmer's sausages, hardly any greens, so it iis obvious that they would get strokes. And if you ate healthy and got a stroke then it does seem puzzling.

Oh Lakota, this brought tears to my eyes and it wasn't your description of the poking and cutting.. Oh, I am so glad you are better now and so happy your daughter was there when you had your stroke. You know, it was a stroke my mom had, (she also had many other bad health issues too), that finally took her from this earth, yet this was many years ago, they didn't have the technology they do now. Still, please take care of yourself, your post scared me, I don't want to loss you...

Hello my friend Lakota12 Ji,
Well, first of all I wish you a early recovery. It was like a dark night, which passed by. Old age itself is a disease, but still I will say, signs of improvemenets are quite visible and you will become Ok. Keep your moral high. Try and do all your work yourself. At least you with your grand daughter and your daughter. Just do not worry about Doc's bill. I would pray Almighty to make you healthy soon. I am too at the age of 67yrs, always keep thinking in similar terms.
May God bless You and have a great time

Hello my friend Lakota12 Ji,
Well, my main idea is to keep your moral rate high, I know it will take its own time. I always prefer to look down, one day my hubby took me to RA specilist, I was walking without any support or even help from my hubby, suddenly on ecar stopped and I found a Lady being brought out with help of two people's support, my hubby asked me to compare my problem with that lady's problem. I got my moral boost dose. Let's look down. To giove you better picture, I will still narrate an incidence, when Lord Rama from epic Ramayana compared his state of exile and asked one Sage 'how unlucky I am?', upon this he was reminded by sage 'Rama, you are much better and walking by the side of your wife Sita and brother Laxman is ready to serve you, just go back to 'TRUTH AGE' , where Raja Nal & his wife were seperated without food by cruel nature, and Damyanti's last cloth was also removed by Vulture, vultures were tyrying to take their flesh.'
So my dear, everything has to end. Just have patience to accept smilingly.
May God bless You and have a great time

Wow my friend. This must be a scary thought, and feeling, and wondering why they are not able to find anything more to help stop and prevent things like this. Are they giving you any special medications to help it? I know with all my issues living with something like this must be scary as well. I will keep you in thought and Prayer hoping they can find the cause for all of this.

How scary! When you started talking about the speech I thought of the woman who wrote a book about her stroke. She called work and she thought she was making perfect sense, but to the person on the other line her words were nonsense. The coworker called an ambulance and she had had a stroke. Did they say why you had the blood clots?

HI Joan, sorry to hear u are having such a hard time. I can relate to most of what u have said. I had a stroke in 05& had to have the carotid artery cleaned out 2 weeks later but mine was blocked more than yours. Glad u are going to have to have surgery on yours.Your er & doctors sound about like what we have hear. It is really scary to have those kind of folks keeping u alive, HOPEFULLY. I hope u don't have anymore problems. Take care of yourself, want u to keep that good bill of health. Have a happy weekend.

You and 911 should be on a first name basis by now, huh? lol You had a strike. i would too. No idea why you had the stroke? Ikes!! Well I am certainly glad all came out okay whether the doctors figured out why or not. Sometimes it is just a mystery never solved. Take care okay?

Poor you - it sounds like you've been through a really scary time. It's so good that you're back to normal and that they have identified the problem. Its also good that they will be keeping an eye on you, hopefully they will pick up any early warning signs.

With all the research and all the progress that science claims to be making that was hell you went through. Something is wrong somewhere. May be you could recapitulate the entire process when you are well so that you are able to pin point who was the main culprit in not being able to diagnose your condition!
