Music in my life has been great. It makes me happy and feel like dancing. Except for the sad songs that i listen to when i'm sad. Certain songs even bring back memories for me like Amazed by Lone Star because that was mine and my husband's wedding song so when i hear it i get all mushy and lovey dovey and think of my hubby and our great wedding. The song Nothing Compares To You by Sinead O'connor makes me think of my best friend because nothing does compare to her as a friend but also when the song first came out we never heard it at all on the radio unless we were together. So that song reminds me of her. The song Give Peace a Chance by John Lennon reminds me of the time my best friend and i were driving down
the street during Desert Storm and playing that song as loud as we could from the car and people honked at us waved smiled and let us know we were part of the war effort. Some songs i hear today remind me of when i was a kid and my mom used to play her guitar and sing with me my brother and sister. So what has music been for you in your life and what songs remind you of what memories?

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well music has been very much influential in my life for it has at many times changed my mood and has helped me regroup my energy and tenacity. I have often solace and pleasure whenever i listen to my favorite track and feel as if my worries and tensions are getting carried away by the flow of music. Such is its profound effect on me that at times i feel like listening to music the whole day.
What say?

I am so much the same way with music. Depending on the song like if it is a happy song it can make me smile. If it is a song with beat rhythm and a good tune to dance to then i feel happier and like dancing. But if im tired and want to relax yet be happy as well slow soft music like soft rock or love songs or classical music ot for me or something like Enya's songs Only Time or Sail Away. Yes i agree music can have a profound effect on your life and mood. Thanks so music for sharing with me in this discussion subhojit.

ahhh yes, music is the food for the soul and the heart. I believe that. I have had music in my life from day one as most probably also has.
My father must of been playing for our mother before we were born.. he was also in a small town band when he was very young. My father was taken from us when we were all very young, by a drunk driver. So yes I believe music has been apart of my life because he started us that way.
Music can define any moment of time, there is a song, a ballad, or any type of song that can be found to fit. Usually is several that one can find to fit as well...
I use music to also calm my stress when it gets to high and I have no one I can talk with, which lately is most of the time.
Music is the food of the soul if we allow it..

Wow, music is always the soundtrack for many things. It's intersting how people will turn a music to the couple's love song when originally the musician intended to be about their mother, but that's because people can 'see' (or rather hear) different meanings to what they get. I love 80's and 90's, that was music, not the noise they create today.

Well for me music has been my inspiration,my willingness to do things, my motivation/motivator. Music is my passion, yes , i do sing. I've been singing since i was at the age of 7, and up to now i still do, I am a Tenor in our university choir, and i must admit singing makes me feel relaxed, calm anything that would basically describe you being comfortable. Singing also makes me feel happy whenever i am sad, makes me strong when i am weak. One of my personal favorite is Overjoyed by Stevie Wonder. Music is the only thing i know that would be with me forever.
