Hi, everyone. I find it very difficult to start any kind of intellectual conversation with people i usually spend my time with. Does anyone have the same problem? Any kind of scientific topic is always avoided because noone has interest in it. I spend a lot of my spare time reading and reaserching to satisfy my curiosity and even some poeople that study physics seem to do so without passion and enthusiasm. I dont mind talking about sports and such, but I need to fill that gap I have. Seems that my only choice is to find some virtual companions. Any suggestions?

I enjoy intellectual discussions, especially since they happen very rarely. I find it easy to start intellectual discussions with those who are close to me, but I don't have a lot of close friends. I find it difficult to start intellectual discussions with people whom I am not close to because I think more about how they might judge me and I stutter and stammer. I also find it easier to join online discussions because I have time to organize my thoughts. Also, I find it easier to face a computer than face a human who looks at me waiting for a reply.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i think it is very much normal with most of the people to adjust themselves in some conversations just because the topics that are being discussed is not their genre topics. We feel a bit left out and wish if our own favorite topics would have been discussed over there. To overcome this we have to take the help of the media around us and get used to the topics that are anonymous to us.
What say?
