try to see the picture i tagged in this discussion... that is friend banana (cardaba banana kind)
guys, to those who do not know my story as i spent myself to school, that i stopped working because i am a graduating student already, well, that one motivated me to earn this sem-break. my boyfriend helped me putting a small business like that; oh well, at least. what we did was that, we used to fry a banana in an oil then insert it to a stick. after that we used to sell it - hahaha... yummy!
what about you, is there a time in your life that you wish to earn or having a sideline? what kind of small business is it? share it here please... thanks

I also decided to earn this sembreak. But in a different way. Tomorrow, I'm going to apply for an office staff located in our city. And I really wish that I could get in so that I can earn extra income this vacation. :)

Well, I believe that now, especially in my country that is Italy, is certainly not the best time to detect a business.
I see all the small traders, lower the shutters and close down forever.
Yes, I know, it's ugly but think the global crisis that hit in a particular way my country has reached very worrying.
Only thing to hope that in the future the Member State put the balanced budget, in order to give us more perspective.

hmmm... i guess we have differences in terms of economy and of having a business. well, in the philippines, we can establish micro-businesses. all you need to do is to have perseverance and that to keep it going and to be successful on what you are doing.

Oh Yummy! I am fan of banana-q! We always eat that during breaks and merienda when I was in my previous work. There were always sellers of that food stuff everywhere. Sadly, it is hard to come by no here in Makati. Anyway, Back into my school days, this one is a popular food for students like me then. Good for you that you have a sideline such as this one as the street food "raket" is always popular!

Prior to this job of mine, my husband and I had this semi-catering business where we cook food and deliver it to offices. But with some unevitable reasons, we had to dropped the business and have a regular day job. And now, currently, we planning to put a small laundry shop, with minimal capital and help from relatives, I hope things will materialize. I hope our plans will prosper for we really need money to help my husband earn some. Good luck, Thanks

well fried banana is very common in my country and mostly this business is running by malays/ muslims. i enjoy fried banana but cannot take too much of this because it is fried and easily will get sore throat. not just friend banana they sell, the fried cempedak, sweet potato, cassava, and few others but i just like the fried banana a lot.

wow, business-minded person... oh yes, when i was in elementary our aunty would like us to sell piƱato (peanut coated with melted sugar). it is no fun and was ashamed to do it that time. my idea was, i let my classmate who was not ashamed of doing it to sell it then give her some as for her reward - hehe ;)

Oh I used to do sidelines during school days before.
I also did the same with you, we do wrap some in lumphia wrapper. We made yema and pastilyas too that we sell in the neighborhood and relatives. Extra income while schooling.

Where or how are you selling those? Do you have a small shop or you just put them in several shops for them to sell those for you with a fraction of commission? I know several shops here who sell home made traditional snacks here. They do not make those themselves; but they know people who are good in making them but do not have their own shops to sell. So those people make their snacks at home then put them in several restaurants or grocery shops on consignment basis.

I always have a high regard for people like you as I was once a working student too. I used to make several things out of crochet like phone case, hair accessories, friendship band and sometimes a pair of bikini. I sell them to my friends and I use the money to buy things I needed for my school papers. Remembering those days made me smile and I was happy that I was able to overcome whatever struggle I had during that time. Thanks for sharing!
