Here in the UK..I got to see it last night! I'm not going to spoil any of it as I'm aware it's not due for release in the US for a couple of weeks at the time of writing (sorry!)
Here's my question..as Bond Fans (I'm assuming this if you're interested in the movie or the franchise) WHEN (or have you ever) had to explain the Bond Movie concept to anyone? It's one of the most widely recognizable Movie concepts on the Planet..I took a look at a Movie discussion board when I got home from the screening, and was surprised to see somebody saying (with this being a Landmark 50 YEARS of Bond Movies) that they'd never seen one,and they were considering it as a moviegoing option..Here in the UK,a Bond Movie is practically a Christmas time viewing cliche..and I read there's now a Satellite TV channel exclusively for Bond Movies..

Oh, i thought it was going to be released next year.. i never knew it was going to be so soon. I liked the soundtrack, Adele's voice really fit the song. I am a huge fan of the Bond series.. i have watched most of them, especially the one with Sean Connery and Pierce brosnan.

Sometimes the main title song is a character song,or a theme..I went into the Movie not knowing what "Skyfall" was, apart from it rattling Bond's cage when the MI6 Shrink throws it to him as a word association test in the trailer with "M" Watching from behind a 2 way Mirror..it's a reveal in the story..Adele's song is so good for this Movie.

Going From the Box Office returns that have been released from it's first week's run, this Movie's going to be one of the most successful Bond Movies Ever..

Yes, I think so too. The title song is already the story itself, you just have to analyze it's thought. With the reviews being positive, I can't wait to see this one.

i dont know how they will love james bond...if they havent seen the film..thats unheard of..
but simply just knowing that james baond is a spy..or recognizing the 007 theme music is aplenty
just like when a survey was taken.. to see who is more known to a kid about age 3-6years old..who probably never seen Elvis presley.. Bruce lee.. or Michael Jackson(though some might have)...looks like.
most never know who is elvis.. 20% knows MJ..all knows Bruce lee.. they have heard of him...but never actually seen any of Bruce lee's film

True-Some stars have moved on from being known for their work to being Cultural Icons, recognizable without someone having seen them "in action"...

That is so interesting. A satelite TV channel exclusively for Bond movies. That would be great! This could be the beginning of something great for movie lovers. I wasn't aware that Bond movies had such a following in the UK. Even a Christmas cliche. So good to know. I hope to see Skyfall at some point on Netflix.

There being a fair Number of Bond Movies-24 or so,depending on who's counting (There's differences of opinion on what's considered a canonical Bond Movie-"Never say Never Again" Had Connery, but the story was a retake of "Thunderball" IIRC,and "Casino Royale" the first time around was a Spoof with Woody Allen!)-so..not sure if the channel is counting those in its lineup,or if it's only the official MGM/Broccoli/Eon Productions all the way..You probably will see the Movie on Netflix at some stage..but isn't a Bond Movie better on a BIG screen?

I would imagine that pretty much everyone from all over the world knows the basic concept of James Bond even if they haven't seen it just because it is that famous. And I'm pretty sure almost everyone in the UK has seen at least part of one.The amount it's aired over the Christmas or Easter holidays.Personally I can't wait to see sky fall I'm seeing it next Sunday for my Birthday.I'm a big James Bond fan unfortunately as I'm a university student I can't afford satellite TV so haven't been able to view the Bond channel.

Thanks for sharing your review on this movie, my father is already asking me to come since he is a big fan of James Bond and watch the movie with him, though I am not much of a Bond fan but I have seen a couple of Bond movies in the past.

The Harry Potter Movies were one of the highest grossing Movies in their first week of release here.."Skyfall" has apparently surpassed those figures..
