What Bathroom Stall and Why?

This may seem like sort of a silly question, but it cam to me when I was at Walmart today. I had to use the washroom while I was there and so I went in to the bathroom. In the bathroom there are 5 stalls, the handicapped stall is the furthest away on the end. I end to prefer using the handicapped stall because it is bigger than the rest of course if there is an elderly person or a handicapped person in the bathroom I would not take that stall. But if I go to a public washroom and the handicapped stall is taken I will usually go in to the 3rd stall or if there are not that many the second. Rarely do I ever go in to the first one unless, there is a line and you have to take what you get. For some reason the first one just not feel as secure to me or something, because 1/2 of it is exposed, I guess I just feel better in between stalls or with a wall on one side. So have you ever noticed you tend to prefer certain stalls then others and why do you think that is?

It is much more complicated for men, there is a whole unspoken and complex etiquette about which urinal to use

That's the start but it gets more complicated with more stalls and more men

Urban,
Where I work there is only one urinal in each of the men's restrooms. We have one in the back and one in the front. The one in the front only has a urinal and a stall, whereas the one in the back has a urinal and two stalls which I find to be sort of backwards... Either way they have the "privacy" board that separates the urinal from the sinks...
Still, If I was a guy I'd choose the stall everytime.

I go to the third stall as well unless it is dirty or occupied. I prefer to use it but I think it really started from just experience. That is to say, the first and second stalls are usually always dirty, fourth and fifth tend to be as well and the handicapped stall someone is usually already in or it's dirty... So the third stall seems to be the cleanest, atleast around here.
The fifth one is usually the second cleanest. I suppose the first and second one is always dirty because it's occupied by those who REALLY have to go.

Where I work, for the ladies there is only two stalls in the front bathroom (customer bathrooms). Though that being said, the second stall (handicapped) is the one that seems to have the uhm.. Stinky situations. I know I've had to clean it up.

I tend to use the handicap stall when I go into the restroom. There is more than one reason for this though. One I am a bigger girl and sometimes those regular stalls feel like they are made tiny people. Another reason is that a lot of times I have my 5 year old daughter with me and both of us don't fit in a regular stall.

Sometimes I worry about kids when they are just standing outside the stall waiting on their mom's. You just never know they could be 'napped in that time. I don't have kids but if they are young enough to still need to go into the restroom with me, they are going in the stall as well. Though I'd be more apt to use the family bathroom where available.

I prefer to use the last few stalls in the bathroom. There have actually been studies done on which stalls are the cleanest. The stalls at the front are the most dirty, because most people use them. I will walk the extra few feet to use a cleaner stall. Plus, I feel like they are more private.

hi,
when i am in that situation,i think i will choose the stall rather than the wall, because i am slightly hide and not exposed in the stall while on the wall,i am surely that someone or anyone could see me,an embarrassing one if that will happen.

Here in the USA, we use them as it's not very often that a handicapped person whom needs to use it is in the bathroom with us. If they were of course we'd give it to them, but it's not like there is a sign on the stall door that says "absolutely no abled bodies in this stall."
Sometimes, (like at my job) it's a choice between two stalls, the handicapped and one another. If the other is occupied, you have to take the handicapped one.

That's not an issue for me. When I walk into a publich washing, I grab the first stall I can get, and if it's dirty or out of order, I grab another one. I don't necessarily mean the first stall everytime, I mean the first one I see that is available. As far as I'm concerned, a toilet is a toilet.

I tend to be the same way. I usually prefer the handicapped stall also because I usually have my 2 daughters with me and we take turns using the toilet and I can keep my eye on them and make sure that they use the seat covers and wash their hands when they are done. And I can just keep my eye on them.
If I am by myself I do still prefer that handicapped stall. I know it's because it is more roomy, usually has its own sink, and is far away from the door and all the traffic coming in and out of the bathroom.
I think I read something somewhere else a while ago that stated people tend to go to the farthest stalls for privacy reasons, especially if they are going to have a bowel movement.
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!
