Mists of Pandoria vs Guild Wars 2

I started playing World of Warcraft during vanilla but quit during Cataclysm due to extreme boredom. I love playing MMOs and right now the two big titles are the Mist of Pandoria Expansion and Guild Wars 2. Is there anyone here who has played both that can give me a non bias opinion as to which one is a stronger game? I've heard Guild Wars 2 has issues with unbalanced factions and servers. Has anyone experienced this? I'd love to get away from World of Warcraft however I don't want to pick up a game that will be dead in six months.
