I open my pc every morning and find the time and date always wrong --- it's always the time and date when I last logged off the computer. How do I resolve this?

Hi,
Some system declare a "Checksum error, press F1 to continue/Press Del to enter setup" message. It is a sign of a drained CMOS battery, the small round CR 2032, 3-volt one attached to the mainboard near the SATA/IDE connectors. You should replace it with a fresh one, failure to do so would result in an unstable system, some CMOS and BIOS fail-safe default settings depend on it as well.

If the problem persists, then you have a faulty system timer, the oscillator circuit on the mainboard is at fault being unable to keep exact step per second increments. It should be replaced as well, a hit or miss operating procedure for us lowly tech that lacks precision soldering instruments.

I am pretty sure that you can change your clock settings on your computer. That should fix the problem easily. If not, maybe you should download the clock gadget. You can use that gadget if the pc clock doesn't work. The way you change the time on your computer is you hit the time, then a clock should pop up. Then you can fix it.

But wouldn't the clock settings stay? I am pretty sure they would, but if they don't it might be because something is wrong with your hard drive. Personally I think just changing time each day would be better than taking apart your computer and fixing that. If your computer is too old you could just get a new one maybe, like a laptop.

Maybe you should Change you time zone. Go to your clock at the lower left side of your screen then hit it, you will see "Change date and time settings" hit it.. Then "change time zone" select your Country time zone and save then set your time and save. Done.
Hope it will helps..

i think that your CMOS battery is not working anymore thats why everytime you shutdown the time resets back to its original time when it was manufactured. Anyway you can try to change the CMOS battery and see if this suggestion will work for you.

I think this situation cause by the cmos.every computer has a cmos chip on the mainboard to keep the time running all the time. When the cmos chip has no power, the time will end up when you shut down your computer,So you can use new cmos battery to replace this old.The problem you faced will be solved.I hope this information can help you.

Hi friend, you can change your time using the date and time settings in the control panel. Apply the changes to get updated time.
