I realize that feisty senior citizens are a staple of comedy, they pop up in most sitcoms on television from time to time, but I honestly don't see why anyone would think this is funny.
This is a new ad for Obama - or rather against Mitt Romney - that is basically a group of elderly persons threatening that if Mitt Romney wins, "we will burn this m*****f****r down". That's about the extent of the substance.
Note that this video is definitely NSFW (not safe for work) nor is it safe for your kids and you might even want to put your hands over your own ears.
WARNING: This video contains profanity

Is this the civility in political rhetoric that Obama called for in Tuscon?
Would this ad encourage anyone to vote for Obama? Why do they think it would?
Are name-calling and threats of physical violence really the only way that Americans feel they can discuss politics these days?

Another example of trying to scare the elderly into believing Romney wants to take away their Medicare coverage. "Mediscare" campaigning. I can't believe there are many oldies who are dumb enough to believe that but maybe they're too tired to care.
I won't go there and look at it but that's the typical message and method of the left these days. If the right would do that there would be a hue and cry and gnashing of teeth and probably lawsuits. There seems to be a lot of violence on the left in this election cycle. OWS, for example, and some arguments I've seen in stores and parking lots. It's usually liberals yelling at conservatives but I've seen it reversed, too. One developed into a fracas that the store cops had to break up.
Now we have people saying they'll riot if Obama loses. We're screwed whoever wins, at least in the short term, but I don't think it'll settle down anytime soon if we get a new president. The point I'm trying to make is that verbal and physical violence is ingrained in this election cycle like I've never seen it in my lifetime, or at least don't remember. Remember the exception of the New Black Panther incident in 2008? The inaction on the part of the DOJ practically implies permission for violence, both physical and verbal.

I think it's been more than ignored or given a tacit approval, I think that the left has been encouraging violent reactions. They need to use emotions to drive people to the left, using logic would drive them the other way. Scare tactics and threats of violence are now a mainstay. Using elderly persons in this video is a way for them to say just what they feel but pretending it's all innocent.

It explains why democrats behave the way they do (like the foul descriptions of Romney from the Hollywood crowd) with a total lack of any decorum. They have been taught by their elders. I would have to challenge the claim that these elderly have any claim to the Greatest Generation. They are a shame. It's bad enough hearing anyone talking that way, but it's especially disgusting hearing such sewage spewing from the mouths of the elderly. The only thing that video told me is that there are foul mouthed old democrats in this home who don't know of any reason to vote for Obama other than he's a democrat. That's not so good an argument.

Well, if I were 97, I might say anything to make a buck, but I know my parents would never have spoken like that and they were of the same generation give or take a few years. Society has become crass and vulgar, and politics even more so. Another reason I think Romney is the sort of leader we need right now, someone whose values and principles seem old-fashioned. We need a dose of moral fiber in our political diet.

I couldn't agree with both of you more! Especially - "who don't know of any reason to vote for Obama other than he's a democrat.."
"Society has become crass and vulgar, and politics even more so.. ..We need a dose of moral fiber in our political diet." (I know some/many? libs would think that last comment to be highly humorous!!)
!! Absolutely!!

Yes, I'm afraid some folks really feel this is acceptable and I guess threats are to be part of the new trends (as this isn't the first I've heard this sort of thing) along with stealing votes via court actions and recalls..
- I've been saying for a long time that the faar left hatred of conservatives (and christians) and the influence of one party upon our education and news outlets, will sooner or later result in folks getting hurt.

I find it more profane that the republicans are trying to suppress the vote.

Well, that video is about what I would expect from moveon.org and Michael Moore. What's really ludicrous is how they refer to the video as "moving" and "inspirational", when it's really disgusting and pathetic. I guess Michael Moore and moveon.org think nothing of exploiting the elderly by making them disgrace themselves by being vulgar and profane on camera. I think most people would view them as dishonoring the "greatest" generation.
When they weren't being profane, they spoke with innuendo about the republicans "suppressing the vote" and "stealing the election". I guess in the eyes of the left, if the republicans win any election, it's "stealing" it. And how exactly are the republicans supposedly suppressing the vote? Would it be the fact that they believe that only United States citizens should vote in our elections?
This video is pure propaganda and nothing more. It's something that the left uses regularly, trying to sway minds with lies and innuendo. The hardliners will think it's wonderful, but most normal people will just be disgusted and put off by it.

I think they used the elderly to mouth those profane statements and threats of violence because they thought it would be "cute" and make their threats seem amusing.
They would use children if they could get away with it.
Oh wait, they already did on that with the creepy video of the kids singing about how Romney is going to destroy the earth if the messiah Obama doesn't save us.
