This scared the $^%! out of me at first. By the title it says my account would be limited and I just got this fixed. My connection is slow so you can imagine my stomach turning as I wait for it to load. Then I see the email and I roll my eyes.
It was a horrible attempt at a phishing email really. The text was in red, it was not professional looking at all and far too short to be from paypal. Especially since I have seen what a real one looks like, terrible. The title scared me but the real email was a joke.
Just beware though there are some out there trying to scam you.

Aww, I'm so glad you didn't fall for that. I get these at least once every couple of weeks or so. I send them over to Paypal...www.spoof@paypal.com so they can see it.
Yes, when I first got them it did scare me and I also get junk like this from Ebay too. I wish I could catch these creeps but its almost impossible.

That's why I send it over to Paypal, and let them try to catch them. The same goes for Ebay also which would be the same address only at the end Ebay.
People still do fall for this garbage for sure. That's why there is so much malware out there because people don't listen. They tell you over and over again (I'm talking about Ebay AND Paypal) that they would never ask for your ID or to log in by sending an email to you. But, you know how that goes, people, especially young people usually, fall for it and bingo, a virus, trojan, or some sort of malware is after all your information. Gives me the creeps.

Yes they don't listen and that is why it spreads so quickly. It is too bad because if people would listen it wouldn't be so bad. It just makes sense but people tend not to think. There had to be a huge number of computers completely shut down in USA awhile back due to a specific type of malware.

Yeah I know what you mean. It scared me because it was the email I use for paypal but if I'd seen it somewhere else then no, they're dumb.

What you should do is to go on the Paypal website and then forward the email to the Paypal spoof address. I get a lot of them, and one thing is that Paypal never addresses you as "Dear customer." They use your name. Trouble is that some of these spoofs are so good, they almost full us. I often get them in my non-paypal email.

I did check one once not a Paypal, just to find out what it was about. And I also put on the full heading that showed where it really came from. Of course, you had to enter your name and password, so it was easy to see where they were going to. And I iommedately emptied my cache afterwards and turned on my anit virus which i did not need to because I have it on automatic.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i can understand the situation u must have gone through then. Well to be honest i had never expected that u will receive any phishing mail that too from Paypal. I mean seriously there is something wrong going on these days on internet, i think someone is misusing Paypal and had sent this mail otherwise one would not expect such mails from Paypal at least.
What say?

I'm so sorry to hear that you were subject to this. Take care in your investment and don't give into anything that sounds too good to be true. I too made an investment once for $100 a few years ago before I learned about real earning sites online. I really got scammed that way and I felt so dumb for it. Now I've made up that amount I lost by doing these free sites though and I know not to fall for things again.

You have done a very good job. and opened eyed so many people related with paypal. There was a one case with me also which has resulted in loss of $10 but it is not paypal but LR someone has withdrawn my all deposit. but how, I coulnt know it. I inquired for this but there is no answer from LR support also. So we have to be alert from these kind of web thieves.

Sorry to hear about your loss in L.R. at least it was only $10 and not a really high amount. Any amount is a horrible loss though when you work hard for it online. Some times these scammers can be so discreet the providers L.R. etc will not even know how it occured either.

Thanks for sharing. Phishing mails are really rampant nowadays. We always should be cautious of such spam mails coming. We don't want our Paypal money from all the online hard work go to scammers and evil doers right?

However, the cyber thieves are always out there. I recently got screwed up by a Paypal account hacker. I don't know how they got into my account as I always secure my login and password. There were magically initiated unauthorized transaction from my account to another Paypal account. Geeez... and it happened twice! Just resolved one dispute and got my money back. I am still awaiting for the other dispute to be won over. They are really annoying. I had all my online earnings accumulated in my Paypal account.

Beware first of all thanks for you that information. But I also know that things before start your discussion.Internet is become a paradise for spam and scam people and its might be attract to more and more scam people which have scam so many people by using different ways that is one of them.Probably they can use fake email address, fake personal address, giving a huge amount to get reach in the overnight and they behind themselves with legt and major groups. They have earn money easily and illegally y innocent to offer them a huge amount that why their are falls in scam. They are contact easily because internet powerful tool for connecting other people.Scammers can also gain your personal information like as email address and other from different websites(probably used by people) because so many websites are take part to selling user information for some bucks. That reason if you have more account with single email then you will phishing email from criminal people. Please careful that fake emails and in the end one thing remember .com domain will send email with associate .com domain link...........

Glad that I never get this kind of email. The email which say that my Paypal has been limited does actually really come from Paypal
By the way, it's actually cool since paypal.co is a legit domain owned by Paypal. I guess that email sender had been masking the "sender address" so that it would looks legit..

I hope you realize this is an outside person not affiliated at all with paypal I am talking about. Paypal is still completely trustworthy and you shouldn't stop doing business of any kind with them because of this. This is just someone trying to get into your account. This is not anything from Paypal and should not be confused with that.

Yeah you should never sign in any where from your emails. Always delete the emails and then go to the real site to sign in or to check out anything even shopping cause that is one way too that I hadn't thought of.

This again?
Even though this is a very old trick, a few still don't know about it - That is what they rely on though. Imagine if 10% of people have never heard of this, imagine again if 1 million dodgy emails are sent out - 10 % of that is 100000.... easy pickings
