I find that sometimes I need to take some kind of over the counter medicine to relieve pain, or some times I have to take a pill for my anxiety attacks. I know I should take my vitamins on a daily basis, but seem to forget when I'm feeling good. Do you take any medications (whether prescribed or over the counter) to get you through a day? Or do you take non- medical treatments?

I used to take sevral over the counter vitamins and minerals until my sister (a scientist) made me read scientific papers that showed that those pills did not do any good. I stopped taking them and I only take the meds that my doctor has given me. It seems that the best way to get vitamins and minerals is by eating plenty of veggies and fruit.

You are welcome, friend! I read that you used Ibuprofen for apin. It doesn´t do anything to me anymore because I used too much of it before my back surgery. In fact, there are no good pain killers for me, unless someone anesthesizes me

You sound like my husband! He has had 29 broken bones including bones that when examined on x-rays looked like white dust. He has a very high tolerance of pain and eats a lot of hot, hot,hot spicy food!

Good point! Most vitamins can be found in eating (fresh) veggies and fruit. That's nice that your sister recommended that some over the counter vitamins and minerals weren't good for you! Thanks for joining in this discussion!

My office mate's husbands feels this anxiety attack for the past weeks.
He had undergone all laboratory exams as well as ECG, but all is normal. He would just suddenly feel like his heart will burst, and be worried without cause at all. He already consulted 3 doctors and they all said it's anxiety attack.
My office mate talked to him heart to heart, because maybe he has a problem. But he said there's none.
Now, he filed for a one month leave, so he could take a rest from work. He is a workaholic, who when there's a deadline, would really work hard so it could be given on time, if not ahead. Perhaps, this is what is stressing him so much.

I think it depends on the person on what one feels like when they have an anxiety attack and also how often it happen. Check this site out http://www.webmd.com/anxiety-panic/default.htm. I found for me it was caused by stress and my heart begins racing and I feel like I have no control over what is going on, that leads me to wonder if something is wrong with me, which leads to all these things going through my head that could be wrong. I've learned to try not to get stressed out about things and I usually don't get them very often. Thanks for joining in this conversation and hope the link may answer some of your questions.

I do take blood pressure meds and over the counter as I have arthritis in my one leg.....so I don't make it through the day without something for pain. However when I am feeling good I also try to avoid taking too much for pain.....only when I need it.

Some times we have to take some kind of prescriptions, vitamins or herbal remedies to help us cope with things. I think the key is moderation and only use when absolutely have to unless it's a prescribed routine. Thanks for joining in on this discussion!

I only take three things a day and then at night i do take benedryl and i think thats helping me throughout the day and keeping me better.

I try to take the herbal, homeopathic remedies first. I feel that way what you're getting is all natural. I will have to look up diabetes neuropathy, I don't know what that is or maybe you could further explain it to us? Thanks for joining in on this discussion!

I am thankful that I still do not need to take anything just to make it through the day. I could still manage to make my everyday life seem "normal" even if there are times that I would just like to bang my head against the wall when I get apprehensive. Thank God, I could still got the control, otherwise, the "pill" is my last resort.

Good for you! I thought I would never need any meds either but some times you can't handle it on your own. I'm also struggling with diet because I some times have high blood sugar (it runs in the family) and hopefully I can control it with diet and exercise. Thanks for joining in this discussion!

As well as clinical depression I have anxiety, I suffer bad with my nerves, and can have panic attacks so I avoid crowds and public transport, I am on anti-depressants which help me get through the day, I do find that I can cope better if I live for today and not worry about tomorrow, today is important. Putting yourself first and looking after yourself, spoil yourself, treat yourself and do things you enjoy doing.

No..I don't take anything. I have been taking some cold medicine because I am sick but other than that..no. I have started vitamin missions before but I never feel any different and often just stop taking them after forgetting a few times. Long hot baths seem to do me better than medicines..lol. I take them more regularly

I've been drinking more coffee lately since I found out some health benefits of it, in moderation of course. Yes, I usually forget to take my vitamins unless there is a certain one I know that helps a certain symptom, then I'll take them! Thanks for joining in this discussion!
