well, there is really fun in gambling. that is true. but is like playing your luck, especially your money as you bet it into a game. what would be the deepest reasons why some of the people are addicted to it and engaging themselves for this play. good thing we can consider as good, when this gambler used to won. for sure he will be so lucky for that day. but pity and bitter for those who had lost. for if there is a winner, there is also a loser. i had seen people losses their bet and looking so staggering for that.
what would be the reason for it? is it to win and to have a good luck to earn or really doing it just for fun? is gambling good or not? share your views of the matter mates --thanks in advance :)

I always felt bad for people that lose a lot of money gambling. I used to go to the casinos here but after I seen a friend win a lot of money, that was enough for me. A lot of people wanted money from him and then a lot of other people thought that just because he won, they thought they would do it too and lost a lot.
If I gamble these days, it is some small amount. Sometimes just for fun, I play the slot machines on gaming sites where I don't have to use real money, to see what the odds are of winning. Plus I really don't have the money to lose.

I have gone to casinos in the past, but I never spend more than I take with me. I bring in the cash I am going to spend for the night, including food, and leave the credit card and ATM card in the car. I am not addicted to it. I go maybe once every two years, and it is a nights diversion. I take about what it would cost to see a movie, get popcorn, a drink, and a box of candy. When it is gone, it is gone. I play the "cheap" slots, and never very long at one before I move onto another. I will sit and watch others play cards.

good for you that managed to get there not to seriously engage yourself with gambling but just having fun and diversion. well i guess you have fun doing that and made me think the excitement can be drawn from yourself as you go having leisures for the while. life needs diversion and recreations to ease stresses from everyday routines like from heavy loads of works and from terror bosses, studies too, problems and etc. so for you, it is just okay to have like that once in two years.
thanks :)

My English is poor, but I think your garmmar also has many problems.
In my opinion, gambling is harmful to our life. First of all, you may lose much money by gambling and it will affect your normal life. Second of all, you should spend much time on gambling, so you don't have enough time to improve yourself. Gambling is also a sort of entertainment activities. You couldn't waste so much time on it. You mustn't fantasy that it is a good method to earn money. If you want to earn money by gambling, you will lose more money.
Altogether, gambling is only a way to kill time and make yourself happy.

it is alright. in mylot everybody is welcome despite of the english proficiency level you have within yourself. it is natural not to have it goodly because english is not my local language and that even those people who used this as their vernacular language sometimes can construct a sentence wrong in grammar. as long as i am expressing my thoughts and can be understood by others, even the structure of it is tumbling and else, it is still welcome here..
i think you should read the guidelines in mylot and you will find it there that no one is allowed to mesmerise or murmur about your grammar haha... thanks for joining and welcome to mylot...

some of my male bosses did gamble. they go to casinos, cockfights, etc. but they always have a budget and when they used it all up, they leave, whether they win or not. they just do it to have added funds. if they lost, they accept it.

i have known some friends that they allot money for gambling and the amount they won will be used for gambling as well. to what you said, i guess it is okay for those people we can say with money to gamble rather than those who are scarcely in need because those rich people can afford and they received salaries and accept money every month. while the latter needs to strive harder to buy for foods and how can they spend moneys for gambling if they do not have that much.

There are many reason people get trap or fall in to gambling. The main reason first they involve into it just to try out their luck and when they start earning (many people says in the Gambling when you enter the first time you always win). Once you start winning from gambling it becomes sort of habits. And when they start loosing their money instead of stopping with confidence they will do the gambling to try out their luck. The main reason they want to try out their luck is to recover what they have lost in the Gambling and earn more so that they can become rich.
But keep in mind Gambling is the bad habit which has ruined many good families and had made them and their family members to starve in their life.

Well, even though I personally have to admit that sometimes I gambled on sporting events, I tell you that my statistical winnings was more or less once every four bets!
The other three, lost all money.
I wanna also claim to have always bet small sums.
Which is why I wish I could write in big letters these words which I strongly DISCOURAGE EVERYONE TO PLAY GAMBLING!
Unfortunately known in the lottery, a lot of players, they invest the sums very high, in the game with a result that I would say more than obvious (to lose!).
Perhaps for the illusion of being able to win at least once a figure equal to one month's salary, they continue daily to expend their property so stupidly.
I am very shocked that even here in Italy the gambling is taking too much range!

I think it gives them happiness because they make it a habit for them. such people take a lot of pleasure from this and they take a lot of risk for this. They don't fear the loss of the money.

I know someone who used this activity as a form of a job.
I am referring to a friend and a cockfighting. He would go everyday to that place. He already prepared himself enough amount for the bet. The strategy: He would place a bet and if he wins on the first and second round, he would go home already. But if it happens that the luck is not with him on the first round, what he will do is to double the amount on the second round or until such tie that he won.
I could say, he is a very wise player. He was able to build his own house from that alone. Learning the game is also one thing to consider.

i think it has alot to do with a gambling addiction, if it is that bad. they are addicted to the adrenaline that you get when you bet. after a while, i guess it's just habit forming after that. i have seen people gamble away their bill money. it's amazing, but scary and sad.

it is really scary when it involves plenty of money being bet. what if gambler lost? but they depend it on a luck no matter what. and excitement would urge them to win. but that thing do not happened all the time. for in gambling is, you may loss or win. what is bad in there is that you will owe some amount just to gamble then make bets. a scary thing to do. so thanks for joining :O)

For one thing, gambling is an addiction. And most often than not, those who gambles are those who earn a measly amount or has no job at all and is hoping for that luck that they could struck gold and be instant millionaires! They do not realize that the amount of bet that they made is much more than the amount that they win.
My husband used to be hooked in game fowl fighting. Even when we were still in College, I know he had been hooked on that already. Good thing he has stopped for almost 2 years now.

I'd say it's for the excitement.
At first it's probably for the million dollar goals.
But then it becomes more and more about winning.

Hello Jahn,
I don't really like gambling, It is matter of luck and not skill, I wouldn't like to lose my hard earned money, I'm just not that kind of personality.
Maybe other people feel some kind of ardor in gambling.
Also i wanted to mention that gambling breaks families, breaks people lives when they lose all their money because of their empty head.
Happy mylotting!

i must admit that rarely of times, i came to bet in lotto but not all of the time. but getting myself to casino, nah, never in entire life and it would be a miracle if do it so. and besides do not have that big amount that i could use for betting. even maybe have it, still do not like the idea to gamble to win and to find your luck...
thanks :)

I've had a few friends that enjoy gambling. I'm under the impression that its about the thrill of taking chances and the possibility of racking in that extra buck. I personally don't get it either. My friend was trying to get me to play Black Jack and the tables all had a $5 and $10 buy in. To me that's insane. Not to mention who quickly that game is over. I've never seen people spend money so fast in my entire life. I told my friend I look at it this way. I could either keep my $5 or I can give it to that guy and have an 80% chance of losing my $5. I like the odds of keeping my money better lol.

well as they said, first impression last. but i am not a believer of that saying. back to gambling topic, oh yes, known lots of people who used to do it with a reason that this thing would be their source of earning to eat three times in a day. they will hope fervently that they will win so that they will have an income for a day.
thanks for joining :)
