Many people say it would be enjoying times with their family while others may say it's a time for joy, fun and sharing. Well, i would say the main essence is the remembrance of the time when Christ was born and died for our sins...our salvation.
So while we remember Christmas and enjoy it with our family, let us also remember the most important reason which is the celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ and how happy we should be for our own and family's salvation. Merry Christmas!

Yes, I guess it's celebrating our life as well with our loved ones because our salvation has already been given for us.

Hello betterdays, Christmas is that: the Birth of Christ. We celebrate his birth, and we want him to come to born and live in our hearts, in our family, in our homes. We want the world to be blessed by him.
We pray, we sing, we attend mas, we decorate home. We sing to him on the Christmas eve. And is time to be with the family, to share care and love.
Blessings betterdays... dainy

Hi dainy, you're exactly right. It is the time to celebrate his birth and what is best is to celebrate it with those of our loved ones.
A time for spiritual and temporal blessings in the form of grace, kindness and physical gifts.
Blessings as well, dainy and to everyone!~

I really do know that Christmas is all about celebrating the birth of Christ and that is something that I think about every year during the Christmas season. However, for me, I have to say that the thing about Christmas that has the most meaning for me is the fact that I feel more charity toward other people during the Christmas season. I love to be able to give more than I am able to right now, but being very limited with income it isn't possible for us right now.

I would agree that Christmas is the season for loving as well as giving. I also felt more kind and loving in this time of the year. Anyway, I felt that what's more important than the give is the intention of the giver so it shouldn't matter if we can't give more but as long as we give it with good intentions...with love :D

Sorry, for me it's definitely not the most important reason, as I'm not Christian and I don't believe in God and that Jesus was our Saviour. For me, the most important thing in Christmas IS getting together with my beloved... nothing EVER can be more important to me than my fiancé, my friends and my family.
