Hurricane Sandy is proving to be quite the storm. It is bringing backing awful memories of Katrina and even reminding me of the Japanese tsumani that occured not to long ago. O.K. folks, do you think that global warming is a contributing factor to such a storm at such a time of the year. I think we need to consider all the possibilities of the impact of climate change. Mother Nature (Mona) can't be tamed, but do we truly understand if we play a part in her fury? Just a thought from an open minded person.

Hurricane Sandy is brought in its devastating effects, yet in the midst we have witnessed the spirit of unity people coming out to help. With the effects we human continue to inflict on the environment; these occurrences are still going to with us. Let us do everything to preserve whatever is left of our environment.

I am not sure if its global warming or just that the earth has been in a cycle of a warming pattern. I seem to remember reading an article recently that said something about how we were coming to the end of a ice age and that it may not be global warming as much as the end of an ice age. I am not a scientist so I cant say for sure but I really do believe that we take advantage of earth and every thing that she gives to us. I think that we need to stop and take a look at all the damage that we have done to the planet that supports us. Things that can not be changed or taken back and once we have looked at those things perhaps not make the same mistakes again and again as seems to be the way of humans for the most part. We take with no regard to if it will be there to provide for future generations. The only thing I am thankful for is that with ever loss there is at least one thing saved. To bad that there are any lost. I can only hope for a day with nothing is destroyed or killed just because.

I understand you completely Autumnrose. The reason for weather extremes is quite a mysteriously natural phenomenon. I can hope with you that manmade disasters like deforestation and pollution can be a thing of the past to preserve beaches and protect species for future generations.
