The trend these days is to go abroad and earn dollars. It's good because what you earn abroad is double or triple the income you receive if you are working locally.. But is the gain in terms of bigger salary proportionate to the problems that may arise from this.. family problems which might result to broken families, teen age marriage or teen age pregnancy, drug related problems that contribute to the social problems in our society.. Before going abroad to work one should weigh all things before making any decision.. Think carefully.. if it's worth it!

Go abroad not only for the dollars, apparently the income is the first concern, but there is another good thing, that is you can learn more from other countries such as the languages and cultures, then the foreign life experience is a good memory for you,so if there are some abroad work opportunities come to me I will grasp them, definitely.

When your single and young if given the opportunity you may opt to work abroad.. since it's easy to decide for yourself when there are no other things to consider like family.. as they say start young so when the time comes... you will live a comfortable life..

For me, it is good to work abroad, if you are still single. But if your are already married and have a family to be left behind, you should carefully weigh things indeed.
Sadly, some families would become broken eventually, when one of the parent is abroad. It's either the parent abroad or the parent left here would find somebody to entertain them, which would eventually break the family.

In my university there's many foreign teachers in our campus, some with his wife and children, some just alone, I saw them very happy working here, and after our calss time we often came to talk with them to learn a foreign language.

Yes it's fine if you and your family could adopt with the situation.. I mean both should sacrifice .. the one working abroad and those who are left behind.. there should be trust on both parties and the one left here has to save whatever is being sent here so that the one working abroad may retire when time comes with comfort..thanks..

Aside frm the issues that you mentioned, people should also remember that they might be earning more compared to what they did locally because of the conversion, but they also have expenses abroad that also need to be paid in dollars or whatever currency of that particular our try they're in. They might think that they're earning more compared to the incomes being offered back home, but the expenses are also almost as much as what they earn if they wouldn't be careful.

I agree with you that's why we should save and not engage in a buying spree whenever you receive your salary and the same should be observed for those who are left behind.. With the US recession and Europe in almost the same situation the exchange rate is so small..

In my country, it is a trend, too. I myself... well, I don't think I'd ever go abroad for work for a longer time (I mean, maximally 3 months, and preferably with a national company), but I would feel so homesick. I love going abroad, but only for a vacation. I wanna settle down here. Especially as my strength is my language knowledge and my office working, with which I cannot do huge abroad, because they have their people for that... and I'm not sure I'd be suitable for any other job, other than waiting tables or babysitting, but those jobs are just not me. Also, there are lots of stories about people being scammed there, homesickness, relationships breaking up, those people feeling as aliens because they can't get accustomed to different cultures, no proper healthcare (as they are not citizens)...

Hi friend, you are right. Now a days working in abroad is quite common and people will go to various countries for their work purpose. Mostly this kind of abroad jobs will give a good income to the person whoever involved in it.
We must be very careful while going to new country as well as doing abroad jobs. Lot of scammers are available in this sort. They require some investment to give the abroad job, we never invest our money with this kind of persons, we must make a lot of search and gather a lot of information about abroad jobs before involving with it.
It is not easy to do jobs in other countries, we must face some unwanted issues with it. First of all we may face language problems, to avoid this we must learn the universal language English as well as the country language. Some country people don't like other country persons to work in their place and give some unwanted troubles and tortures to the foreign employees. But this kind of attitude is wrong, we must treat other country persons as our brother and give importance to them. Surely people will avoid this kind of unwanted hatred activities.
There is nothing wrong in going to a foreign country for the job purpose and earning money from it. At the same time, we must give importance to our mother country and try our maximum to spread the cultural and traditional value of our country to the foreign countries, some persons will change and forget about their mother country after getting the abroad jobs, this kind of people must give up their activities and always love their mother country, even though they are living in an abroad place for their job.
Give importance to the people whoever living in your country, and treat the foreign persons as your brother and give equal importance to them, don't see partiality based on the country. All human beings are same. We must never forget about our culture and tradition even though we are working in foreign, always keep up your culture and spread it in other countries

Going abroad has become the only option for most to get work and get a better living because of our government failures to create job opportunity. Now the Philippines top dollar earner are our OFW, without their dollar remittances our economy will falter or even collapse.
But working abroad brought many problems to the family and anyone contemplating this option must be aware of its consequences.
Have a nice evening.
Ciao!

I have relatives who worked abroad and ended having a broken family. Because of needs, what God united part ways just to earn for a living in hope for a brighter tomorrow. May all those whoa re working abroad stay close to the Lord as well as the families at home so that we will not fall into horrible situations though they are apart.
