With time flying, I find that I am being the person gradually who is not trying his best to complete his work. Sometimes I may not be as careful to my work as I started to work more than one year ago. I hate the man who I am now.
I think there are many factors which let me change. First of all, I am familiar with my work now. If you are familiar with something, you may not be as careful as you were. Second, I may think it is boring to do my work. I should say that sometimes I feel the work I have done is boring.
I need to overcome these obstacles, and I want to be an excellent man. Carefulness and hard working are the basic things.
My dear mylotters, do you have the same problems about your work? How do you overcome them?

Hi Matt, I always feel the same way. In fact, there are times that I feel like that doing my job is just a waste of time. I am totally bored with it and there were times that I hate doing it. But whenever I think why I ended up with this job, I have no one to blame but myself. In fact, I have a better choice but I chose this one. Why? I wanted a job that won't really require me to think so much. And I thought that my present job, is the perfect one for that as I don't really have to do technical works, I just had to answer queries of our clients and assist our boss. I felt like being a secretary won't require so much of my time unlike the previous job that I have that I needed to be at the library, do research and coordinate so many things that I can no longer brush my hair. I wanted more time for myself and so I looked for a job that won't really require those. But ended up losing my own identity. Well, I haven't prepared someone a coffee for the longest time but I needed to make a perfect coffee for my boss when I transferred to this new job. How do I feel? I feel demoralized especially if he would asked me to wash his cup. I've never done that in my previous job. We have people there who wash my cup and plates.
I have so much regrets in me but I can't really blame anyone. The problem is I can't find the motivation to do my present job. My salary is in fact lower than what I am receiving previously.
How do I overcome those feelings? Well, I am just trying to be fair as much as possible. They pay me regularly and I do not really want to doubt their trust in hiring me for the position, so my conscience is always reminding me that I should be worthy enough for their trust. And I do try my best to overcome regrets and negative thoughts. I am in fact finding some trainings and seminars that I can attend to help me improve myself.

Sounds like its time for you ro sit back and think if you really want this job? Do you need it? Do you like it? A job pays you, therefore you need to do your best at it.

Obviously, you are a person with upward mobility, so that you can find your situation, and worry about it. My opinion is:
1. Do you really like this job?
2. What do you want to do in the future, and what is your career develop plan?
== Find out the answer, and do the job based on your interest.
what's more, don't be content to your current performance. Even a simple task could be turned out to be a totally different result because of the different people.Try to do your job perfect.
and another important one is can you find the connection between your job and other functions? For example:if you are a salesman, do you know how your sales policy connect with the marketing? do something like this, then even you are doing the same job everyday, one day, you can be a great person with capability of dealing with other tasks.

We do have a tendency to slack off when our work becomes so routine already, and this could cause us to make mistakes. You actually are doing the right thing - changing that kind of attitude. And it's great that you've realized it. Some people might try to put the blame on others when they make mistakes at work. They wouldn't think that it was their carelessness that caused the mistake in the first place.

Hello there Mattxu,
Well, after I have read your post, I have tried to pick up the pieces that you want to figure out. First of all, you might be so familiar with the job that you are handling. That makes you feel some boredom. And because of it, maybe you always think that you can do it even in a snap. Thus, your job does not give you any challenge at all. In that instance, perhaps, try to look for a way wherein you can focus your attention more. Like developing a hobby that you can do maybe after office hours. In that way, you have something to look forward to after your routine job has ended for the day. Who knows, you are also developing your another fall back eventually. Thus sometimes, we feel the boredom because our mission on the current job is already finished. And that, we need to develop a new one to gain another knowledge that will bring us eventually to another path.

It happens to some people. I myself have experienced that before during the time when I see my job as a mere task that I do everyday. I find it not challenging enough, hence I lost all my interest. Good thing though that I had a great supervisor that time and she helped me renewed my interest at work by giving me more challenging roles and task. Those things she required me to do was such a breath of fresh air that I find myself loving my work again.
