...why do girls like men with abs.

I think girls are going gaga over abs because they are thinking that a person who has abs will likely to protect them from all forms of danger...

That type of fellow has no interest for me. It tells me he is obsessed with his body and his appearance. I want a man of substance who is a little rough around the edges. I'm not perfect and I don't want a guy who thinks he is or tries to be so.

It is a preference. Me? I love muscles but my guy doesn't have a body builder body! And I wouldn't try to make him into one! I love his inside and I respect him as a person. If your friend keeps this up she will lose her guy .

It's just something that she likes. I'm not sure why, but I've always been attracted to guys with chiseled chins/jaw lines and big biceps! Is there anything that attracts you to certain types of guys? I know things I don't like, crooked teeth is a big one and being way too thin. It seems like the things I like or don't like, are never what I end up with. The ex had crooked teeth and was thin, had no big biceps and his chin and jawline weren't chiseled at all. I never expected him to change. He was what he was.

I guess I'm honestly more curious why girls like men at all. Unlike most men out there I don't have a selfish arrogance problem, where I think I'm G-d's gift to woman kind. That said, I also don't think I'm horrible and awful either. I'm fairly normal. Nothing particularly attractive, or anything special to be interested in. And I can see that most men are pretty plain, average and boring. Yet girls love them. Why? For what? What is it that makes the girls so desire to be with a man? It certainly can't be their cleanlyness. Nor can it be their odors and aroma (unless they use a ton of smelly stuff). I suppose you could explain it, but I'm not sure I'd get it.

I don't know how girls or woman drool over that either, I am married to my husband and that is it. Although I would love to meet Gene Simmons someday. He has been my all time want to meet celebrity. Go figure. Thank God my husband is hairy like him. Wink wink.

The real question is why does your friend likes a man with abs! Not every woman likes them and I bet the the great part of the women prefer more normal guys. If I were her FB, I`d tell her to stop it or else. It`s clear that she does not like him as he is

I don't get why people are like this.. Although they are good to look at sometimes... but bulging abs are disgusting for me.. like wrestlers.. Maybe because it makes them look manlier and it's the trend, you see in magazines and billboards..

I'm not sure if she truly loves her boyfriend if she is so die-hard on changing his boyfriend (whom she is supposed to love as he is, especially as he was abs-less when they met)... it's a silly thing to force him to do that. I'm not a top model category girl, either, and it may be because of that, I don't know, but I don't like too muscular guys witzh muscly chests and sixpacks. I just don't find them attractive. My boyfriend has a bit heavier than average frame with a little belly, and for me, he has the best body in the world, I love him :).

Well I hope your friend is not thinking of breaking up with her boyfriend because he does not have abs. That makes her shallow and superficial (sorry for the words I chose). People have different tastes and preferences - what may be attractive to one may be ordinary to other. So I guess you'll just have to deal with your friend drooling over pictures of men with abs. :D However, to look it in a different perspective, maybe girls like your friend are not really atrracted with the abs but the fact that those guys with abs are healthy and know how to take care of their body. Perhaps they are attracted to the discipline these men have.

I don't know but i don't look at the abs of a man , some woman are as if dying if they can see these 6 pack abs. By the way , what is the essence of this thing ? Me ? i look for the brain and values of a man. As long as not so ugly then i guess that would be enough but i am respecting the other preferences of other woman.

I think a man that takes care of his body and has nice muscle tone is attractive. I do however also like men who are just average though. Some people just look for certain physical characteristics that excite them I suppose. She should however realize what is more important though. Hopefully she realizes that soon before she passes up something good or drives her boyfriend nuts lol.

I don't know. I just think women sexualize men just as much as men sexualize women, but it's not PC to state that women also want a man who's fit and attractive and "hot." "Oh, want us for more than our bodies!" scream the ladies. But who do the ladies drool over? A funny, nice guy like Jack Black, or a ripped, toned guy like Ryan Gosling? Muscles aren't every girl's thing, I'm sure. Just like I know plenty of guys who appreciate a nice butt over big boobs. But we're all drawn in some way to attractive people. We're all shallow. And while a person might fall in love with someone frumpy, pale and short like Mr. Black, that doesn't mean they're not rubbing one out to Gosling in the bathtub.

The same reason why guys love girls with huge watermelons. The same reasons why guys love girls with huge booties and the same reason why guys loves women with small waist. I think women love abs because its sexualized on tv. centuries ago, a woman's bossom is not seen as a sexualized organ, Women can get out of their homes with no worries but out of a sudden it became a thing of desire for women. I think women see it as a sign of being a real man.... when n reality a lot of men with abs dont like women.

Cuz abs look like a washboard and women love doing laundry?lol..Girls are just programmed to like it just like we guys like girls with big boobs or big butts.At least all the guys gotta do is some crunches and lift weights but girls cant do anything to change the size of her boobs or butt.Well she can but it's more complicated..

haha, I don't know what" abs" means, but I guess from your post that it means "muscles", am I right? I don't have that "hobby", I love my husband though has no abs, he is thin. But he is kind and nice. It's surprising that many girls like men with abs. My daughter is 7 years old and I know she likes the men with abs. When she watches TV, every time she sees a person who has abs, she will scream," mum, he has muscles." And she ever told my husband that she hoped he had muscles like that , too. She is only 7, it's really surprising. When I asked her," Why do you like muscles?" She told me as muscles made people look strong.

Hello Jeanne, I think it's in girl's genes to like Man with abs. If Man have abs, that means he is active, healthy , that means their kids will be healthy too, so its natural to like a Man with abs. Happy mylotting!

well if this is the case that girl really likes abs...then its the time i should go for it hehehe lol well in this world you will find different kind of person ..lets take example of girls like some girls like guy with abs, some like the guys with good looks , some girls like guys with good mind..blah blah... so it all depends on mentality and mindsets of person or girls that what kind of guys girls want to see as their partner.. thanks
