The storm that hit the US Atlantic coast is really destructive. Many many people became victims of the storm this time ? Have you given donation to any organization that is helping the victims , e.g. Red Cross, World Vision ? Would be very helpful regardless of the amount , right ? Do you agree too ?

I prefer to donate items of need, this way I know it will be used eventually. Money to some of these organizations only a percentage of money is used for the people of need. Many companies come right out and donate actual products to those in the disaster area's. They have been doing this in many different areas that has need help all through the years. Even here when a tornado went through the water company had its truck go through twice a day giving each family drinking water to last the day. That is how I would donate is become a patron of such companies that jump right in to help these people. Just another way to give in my opinion.

That's a very good reminder. One great think about Americans (and I'm sure it's true of those in Canada as well) is that they help each other. There is no doubt in my mind people will band together to help each other. And I know while a lot of help is needed, a lot of help will be given. I hope though people won't forget about donating blood too. That apparently seems to be a big problem now as well.

Yes it does! The Red Cross, Agape and other organizations will also take donations of food toiletries and other goods to disperse. I have lived though this, just last year and it's the things like feminine products, diapers, shampoo/conditioner and the like that are so forgotten in the donation bins and so so needed. As I said our area was devastated last year (hit again by wind we too are just getting electric back) and because we all know how it feels we are all chomping at the bit to go help. I was told not to drive down yet (my whole family in NJ has been affected in one way or another) because there is little gas to buy (we would drive down but need gas to get back home) and people have been looting the neighbors houses. Our church though is meeting Saturday morning to make up baskets to bring down. We are using small laundry baskets and filling them with detergents, shampoos, feminine products, diapers, wipes, snacks, handi wipes, ect. Then our Sawdust group will be going down to work and give out baskets (saw dust is a charity we run where volunteers go out and help do handy work for those who cannot. They are still helping people here put their homes back together).
