I prefer Airbus.
I think Airbus is far better now. Earlier ( a coupl o decades ago) Boeing was the undisputed king, but Airbus has recently picked up wih the A380( thoough deliveries have been delayed by yrs) and A350.

From a technical standpoint, Airbus carries way more technologically advanced planes. Their full line is fly-by-wire, which involves a whole lot of technology. Boeing's only fly-by-wire plane is the 777.
More than the fly-by-wire system, Airbus has also a complex system that allows either the pilot or the co-pilot. This particular component of the plane is critical to how important technological advancements on a plane can be measured.
On the other hand, it seems like the fly-by-wire technology employed by Airbus isn't quite air-tight, given the pilot/copilot control mechanism. This means that, given some circumstances, Airbus may actually endanger the passengers. One notorious example is the Air France plane that crashed a while back when the plane expected that the pilot would land, instead he wanted to gain altitude again. The plane locked into a landing mode and it ended up in the woods not far from the end of the runway. Bad accident, no survivors.
Needless to say, that's an extreme case. But that's what happens when technological advancements take the lead over human common sense.
To me: Airbus is more advanced, but Boeing keeps in mind that humans may be a bit more prone to good judgement in all situations than a set of hardware and software generated by some software engineers who may or may not have ever flown a plane in their lives.

I have travelled in both Boeing and Airbus planes of many times, Boeing planes are more noisy but seems to be little faster, Where as Airbus planes are more quiter and comfortable,
The noise levels of Boeing 757 to 787 planes (engines) is comparatively higher than that of Airbus A300 to A340.
