There are certain milestones that you may want to reach. First is the 100 posts milestone. Once the number besides your username reach 100, you will then have a star with a number and a certain color, just like what you see in other myLotters. It rises and fall every time a member rate a positive or negative to your posts. So we always better to be good and respectful to other members. Next milestone is the 200 posts mark, once you reach it, you will be able to use emoticons and some text modification like bold, italic and underline. Then if you will keep on posting and reach the 500 posts mark, you will then be able to copy and paste. That is my next target and I am almost there. Well, those are the things that I can tell you about those points that you are asking. Hope it helps. Good day and happy myLotting!

You can use Bold, Italic and Underline at any level; it is only the Emoticons that are not available until you reach 200.

Since Harold already explained the thing well, I think I just have to agree with him on this matter.
The only thing I want to add is for you to enjoy and I'm sure you will learn a lot of things with myLot. Have a nice day!

Sorta.
I don't think it's the ending factor in the administration's decision of how much money to give you (your star-rating also has something to do with it, and how much traffic 'your discussions' (both 'those you start' AND 'those you join') get, and how many referrals you have, and your ranking in various discussion-types, and various other "red herrings" that look like they might matter to bean-counters ).
Plus, there's all sorts of 'scripts' & other programs monitoring everything here to make sure no one's "gaming it."
So the best advice: just don't worry about it! Make the discussions valuable to you (think of them as 'gifts you are given because myLotters are nice'), and the money will take care of itself!

Does mylot any outlook of its own as to evaluate the discussions or reward an user?

Naturally, of course they do. It's just that they're not going to personally evaluate EVERY discussion. NO ONE could do that! which is WHY they have the star-ratings (little '+' & '-' buttons beneath each start & -response).

The number beside your name is called your User Rating and (very roughly) counts the number of discussions you have been involved in NOT the total number of posts you have made. It bears little or no relationship to what you will actually earn. Your User Rating does two main things. It tells other users (roughly) how many discussions you have participated in and it allows you certain privileges at certain levels:
100 or more: You can rate other users' posts and you will see your own MyLot Reputation (The Discussion Rating System IS factored in to the Earnings algorithm).
200 or more: You will be able to use emoticons from the menu on the left
500 or more: You will be able to copy and paste more than very small amounts of text. This is NOT an invitation to plagiarise! It can be useful, however, if you like to write your discussions and responses in a Word Processor and if you need to quote short passages to illustrate your discussions. You will also be able to add images to your responses and comments as well as when posting a discussion topic.
You can read what MyLot have to say about User Rating and MyLot Reputation (the star you will see beside the names of those people with a User Rating of more than 100) here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx
You can read about how the Discussion Rating System works here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq17.aspx

Well, is the point your were talking about is the one who has a dollar sign? If it is yes, probably it is your money you have earned after contributing here on Mylot. Just keep doing activities here, stay active to earn more money. You may start new discussion, post comment, complete some tasks or refer a friend to increase your earnings.

Hello, Thiruneesh
First of all, the more posts you make, the higher your earnings will be.
Secondly, points shows your activity, experience in Mylot and if you will be really active, myLot will give you rank, the better rank, more you earn from posts.
Happy myLotting!
